Always try to see the "INTENTION BEHIND THE ACTION."

I have a personal example for this. Around a year ago, I planned to have dinner on the video call with my friend who is living in a different state; I prepared my favorite food by 8.p.m and waited for him to reach home from the office. And then, It was 9.p.m in the night yet, I hadn't received any call or message from him but, he answered me as soon as I texted him, he told me that he will be ready for the call in ten minutes and so, I was very much excited and extremely happy. I got up, I checked myself in the mirror once again, turned on the music.
After few minutes, he called with all smiles and saw me holding a plate, and then, what happened the next moment is not something that I forget in my life. He smiled at me and asked 'Are you still having your dinner?'
At first, I thought that he must be trying to annoy me but, the moment I understood that I was so very wrong, I had tears in my eyes.
I immediately wanted to go off or shout on him badly for spoiling the night and everything but, I waited for a moment and told him to recheck the old messages, when he did so, he felt so very bad for not understanding my words before in the right way.
However, I understood his intention, which was to finish his dinner as early as possible and video call me and to spend time until the late-night.
The mistake he made was, he didn't read my messages properly early that morning. The good thing that I did was looking at the intention (Him finishing his dinner early to spend more time together) rather than whatever else went wrong.
I know, the night probably would have gone very differently if I hadn't appreciated his good intentions!
Life-Lessons from this story:
- Intentions are important.
- Just the good intentions are not enough.
- Get better at understanding people.
- THE END!
