Most Companies Don’t Have a Clue About Digital Transformation?

Over the years, it’s become a simple fact that many IT implementations (of all kinds) fail. They often don’t fail because of the technology, but because of lack of strategy and planning. To be blunt, they fail because of a lack of leadership. Statistics like this don’t bode well for the success of today’s digital transformation efforts:?

“Well, this survey of 1,475 senior business leaders -- who, remarkably, still have jobs at companies with more than 500 employees all over the world -- offers quite a few clues.?

Here was my favorite: 70% could not identify exactly who is responsible for managing the adoption of new technologies in their organization.”?

Digital Transformation: Top 5 Skills You Need to Succeed?

The final skill mentioned is leadership, “It has been noted multiple times that the largest barrier to digital transformation is company culture. Company culture can heavily impact employees' perception of change, and an unresponsive culture can result in the expenditure of millions of dollars to achieve a transformation that will be circumvented.”?

Though, as the previous article mentioned, leadership is often sorely lacking as many executives don’t seem to know what they’re doing when it comes to digital transformation. Master these skills, and you’ll set yourself up well for a leadership position.?

It’s the Perfect Time to Invest in Process Intelligence?

From the article: The Bottom Line: Not investing in process intelligence might simply be reckless as the uncertain economic environment combined with inefficient processes and trapped value could be the perfect storm for a crisis.?

IBM Report: Consumers Pay the Price as Data Breach Costs Reach All-Time High?

IBM recently released the results of its annual Cost of a Data Breach report, conducted and written by Ponemon Research. The cost of data breaches continues to rise, reaching an all-time high of $4.35 million for the organizations studied. Not a big deal, you might think, until you see the finding that 83% of the studied organizations “have experienced more than one data breach in their lifetime.” One other stat jumped out:?

• Security Immaturity in Clouds – Forty-three percent of studied organizations are in the early stages or have not started applying security practices across their cloud environments, observing over $660,000 on average in higher breach costs than studied organizations with mature security across their cloud environments.?

Cloud security is a serious issue that every company should take seriously. Just because it’s “in the cloud” doesn’t mean you don’t need to have a strategic plan.??
