Intelligent Analysts Forum – an independent gathering of experts

We will be looking at the economy side of the story on Saturday at Analysts’ forum, a private funded settings. The forum is strictly for intellectuals with large minds but without bias of any sort. We are not limited to our individual resources, we collaborate with best in the industry for information, data and advise.

-   We will be discussing sales of assets as a way to come out from recession.

Here is the pre-session feed:

1.   As a cash generating unit, perhaps a cash cow is it right to sell NLNG?

Is there is any CEO in corporate clime that will be willing to let go off his company’s cash cow as a way to sort out immediate issue. The question is: who is likely to bid for NLNG if it is offer for sale? We looked at self-interest, familiarity and access to the system.

2.   In Finance, there is always alternative financial strategies to assets stripping. If you were to be at the helms of affair, what would you do to raise foreign currency?

3.   We will be considering by cross examining vary opinions between Godwin Emefiele and Kemi Adeosun on benchmark interest rate adjustment. While the former prefers to maintain status quo, Minister of Finance is on the other side calling for reduce interest rate. To her, FG will be able to borrow at lower cost. We think, is it about FG borrowing or for the economy to grow from inside, allowing private sector reduced cost of capital… Is Mr. Emefiele trapped in his previous policies somersault or Mrs. Adeosun on the wrong side? How are both fairing in policy administration?

4.   What is effective benchmark interest in the economy; considering +/-2% band? What is banks’ lending rate today? Then, average return on investment by 10 leading companies in Nigeria.

Experts discuss extensively before taking position; having weighted all the pros and cons. Our first rule: No band wagon. Second: No sentiment – have facts or figure. Third: At least a principle must guide your opinion –don’t bring bedroom opinions.

We are looking for masters in the industries to join us. You can make difference using your expertise. Let us discuss the economy as it concerns You & I.
