Intel 2020 - my personal perspective
Let me give you my perspective on the recent news, which was not always positive for Intel.
Today we are in a much different place with a diverse portfolio, competitive strategy, and significant acquisitions. Our sales volume is several orders of magnitude greater than Nvidia and AMD combined! Intel’s revenue in 2019 was $ 72 billion, and in 2020 it will be about $ 75 billion - a 5% increase.
This means that Intel, despite competition in certain segments, is in a very good business position and financially stable. Our client department revenue has consistently exceeded forecasts for five years in a row.
The financial reports do show a decline in our data center revenue. Nonetheless, regardless of investors’ disappointment, it’s worthwhile to put the results in perspective: in the first nine months of this year, the DCG Group’s revenues reached $ 20 billion.
Apple’s news isn’t a surprise and it’s been known for years. Apple prefers to control only the software and hardware. On top of that, the sale of our processors to Apple accounted for only 2% -4% of total sales Our processors.
We continue to sell products to other significant customers, including Microsoft, Google, the responsibility for the operating systems, Facebook, and, of course, all computer OEMs: Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Dell, HP, and more.
Rocket Lake will be released next month, and it will be a very good product for gaming. Later in 2021, we will launch the revolutionary Alder Lake, first developed on a base of Big Little technology that will give people great value.
2020 is set to be a challenging year - an outbreak of an epidemic, a global tension. Despite all this, Intel is known as a company that knows how to handle difficulty and identifies business opportunities in turbulent times, and we are prepared.
We have a clear strategy. We are not merely a PC company.
The strategy encompasses Packaging architecture that incorporates a standard processor (CPU), GPU, and accelerator processors like artificial intelligence. Along with programmable chips (FPGAs), API ONE (along with memory investment (OPATANE), and communication interfaces.
With a potential market of $300 billion, our computing solutions are everywhere.
Personally, I truly believe intel is one of the best companies in the tech industry, and 2021 will be even a better year for us.
