Integrity Matters in Our Communities

Around the globe, today is Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement encouraging people and organizations to transform their communities around the world. There is no better day to reflect on what operating with integrity in our communities means.

We are ever-more connected and engrained into the communities we live, serve, and play. Throughout our history, and now as K2 Integrity, we have been and continue to be devoted to investing time and resources through philanthropic efforts within our communities, both as a firm and as individual contributors. As with many businesses around the globe, this was a challenging year that forced us to not just look at how we present ourselves in the market, but also to take a deep look inward to how we work as a team in the communities we serve. 

I’ve learned about many of our team’s individual efforts firsthand because of the weekly checkpoints we have as a company. During these checkpoints, I share my five tips for the week: gratitude, inspiration, help a neighbor, take a risk, and find a reason to smile or laugh. And from their passion and entrepreneurialism, it became abundantly clear our team was already living those tips within their communities.

I witnessed so many acts of kindness, large and small, by members of our team. From donating supplies and snacks to first responders, to picking up groceries for neighbors, to donating time or resources to causes providing relief around the globe, to facilitating clothing drives, our team answered the call of their communities. As I write this, we are underway with a virtual toy drive for the holiday season to help those around us. We know there is still more work to be done, and we pledge to continue working together to make a difference and drive positive outcomes beyond just our business, acting with integrity and accountability every step of the way.

Bringing it back to our business, 2020 is the year that showed us our clients do not need another box of gourmet chocolate or a bottle of wine to pay homage around the holidays to our relationship. In lieu of client gifts this year, our team will be supporting communities and efforts around the globe, “gifting” our clients the ability to benefit a selected cause that means something to them through Gifts for Good. Whether it is trees planted, meals served, gallons of clean water, or other charitable efforts, there will be several worthy causes for our clients and friends to pick from. We will have additional details on this for our team and clients in the coming weeks. At K2 Integrity, we are proud to take steps – both small and large – to continue making a difference in our communities around the world.
