Integrating technology when branding Iconic venues
Blending technology updates into an iconic venue was Morgan Stanley's challenge as they evaluated ways to update their 20 year old digital display system in Times Square. The three bands of tickering stock prices are commonly seen in movies set in New York or promotional images of Times Square area AND are viewed by 168,000,000 people every year.
Morgan Stanley chose to update their system with colorful video display products and expand their abilities by add digital signage to curved barrels at each corner of their venue. They expanded their control system capabilities as the building front is now treated as one 6 million pixel canvas. As seen in the picture, Morgan Stanley can spread branding or messages across their entire building creating a WOW moment visible from the Times Square area or address individual sections while the three tickers provide stock prices in colorful images.
Morgan Stanley includes content from the firm's recently launched socially minded ad campaign called Capital Creates Change, and refreshed their web site to provide a continuous theme across technology. Providing a face lift to an iconic property can create impact with forethought and planning.
Congrats to Morgan Stanley!
