Integrating Sphere
We are very glad to share our professional array spectra radio meter: Integrating Sphere
An integrating sphere is an optical instrument used for precise measurement and analysis of light radiation characteristics. It is typically a hollow sphere coated internally with high-reflectivity materials (such as titanium dioxide, aluminum, or other white coatings). The design aims to uniformly distribute the light entering the sphere internally, effectively integrating light radiation from different directions for various optical measurements.
Structure and Principle Structure: The inner wall of the integrating sphere is usually diffusely reflective and highly reflective, allowing incident light to reflect multiple times inside to achieve uniform distribution. The sphere has an entrance port for light to enter, while the exit is typically connected to a photometer or spectrometer for measurement.
Operating Principle:
-Light Introduction: Light emitted by a source (like LED, laser, etc.) enters the integrating sphere through the entrance.
-Light Diffuse Reflection: The entering light reflects multiple times off the inner wall of the sphere, distributing uniformly throughout the interior.
-Light Collection: Through one or more exits (usually small openings), some light is guided to detection devices (such as photometers or spectrometers) for measurement. These devices can accurately read the light's intensity, spectral distribution, and other information.
Main Functions
-Total Luminous Flux Measurement: The integrating sphere can calculate the total luminous flux emitted from the light source (measured in lumens). Regardless of the emission direction of the light source, it provides accurate measurements of overall performance.
-Spectral Characteristics Analysis: By combining the integrating sphere with a spectrometer, one can obtain the spectral distribution of the emitted light, analyzing its wavelength characteristics and intensity.
-Optical Parameter Testing:
-Reflectance and Transmittance: Assessing the reflective and transmissive properties of materials helps in studying their optical performance. ?
-Color Measurement: The integrating sphere can analyze the color temperature and color index of light.

-Material Research: Evaluating the performance of various optical materials (like filter and coatings).
-Optoelectronic Device Calibration: Calibrating light sensors and detectors to ensure the accuracy of their outputs.
-Scientific Research: Collecting reliable experimental data in fields like physics and optics.
The integrating sphere is an indispensable optical testing tool. Its unique structure and operating principle enable efficient and accurate integration and measurement of light characteristics. By effectively integrating light and providing precise measurement data, integrating spheres play a crucial role in scientific research and industrial applications.
