Integrating Salesforce Commerce Cloud with Grafana Labs using Loki

Salesforce Commerce Cloud provides a robust logging system to help developers and administrators monitor and troubleshoot their applications. The log streaming function is primarily facilitated through the Log Center, which is a centralized application for searching and managing log messages from both system and custom code across all tenant realms.

Now this is a very common knowledge but now with the new log streaming function, you can do much more, more such as enhanced monitoring and automation capabilities by allowing logs to be streamed into third-party log aggregation tools.

Here are the key features and benefits:

  • Enhanced Monitoring: By streaming logs to third-party tools, organizations can leverage advanced monitoring and analytics capabilities to gain deeper insights into their system’s performance and issues.
  • Automation: Automated log analysis helps in quickly identifying and resolving issues, improving overall system reliability and performance.
  • Scalability: The ability to stream logs in real-time supports scalable monitoring solutions, which is essential for large enterprises with complex systems.

So we took Grafana and used Loki with SFCC log center and now we have sfcc logs getting streamed on Grafana.

Grafana and Loki work together to provide powerful log aggregation and visualization capabilities.

What is Loki?

Loki is also the name of a log aggregation system developed by Grafana Labs. It is designed to collect and store log data from various sources, making it easier to search, analyze, and visualize logs. Loki is known for its efficiency and scalability, using a label-based indexing system that reduces storage costs compared to traditional logging systems. It integrates seamlessly with Grafana, allowing users to create detailed dashboards and reports based on their log data.

Here is quick demo,

Some Financial Benefits of using Grafana labs.

Cost-Saving Strategies: Using Grafana for monitoring, adopting an open-source model for log analysis, and integrating with tools like PagerDuty for automated alerts.

Grafana for Monitoring: offers consumption-based charges, which can be more economical.

Let me know if you would like to learn more we would love to show you a demo.
