Integrated Strategy v The Oz fires!

Part 1 of 2 articles introducing a new strategy to put the fires out!
The only proven cure for fear is knowledge. Australia is dealing with one of the worlds four elements, fire. In a completely out of control way, that no country has ever experienced before. In this document I dive in searching high and low looking far and wide across all platforms of knowledge to find a new answer to take on fight and defeat this fire. The answer I have found can turn the tide on the flames and bring Australia back from the edge. The key part of the answer comes from Chinese philosophy. Through this strategy we create a way to not just tackle fire with water but with all four elements combined. A whole squadron of New Rapid Engagement fire extinguishing vehicles are created that tackle fires ways never tested before that would certainly work.
The principle issue with the fires, is that the best strategy to extinguish them is not being used, it’s not even being considered. This does not simply refer to Australia, it’s the same worldwide. Why? The reason is simple, the world, governments, fire services have never had to deal with fire issues on this scale before.
Secondly due to the fact “Integrated Strategies” and the many answers these have provided in the past 15 years have not been fully explored by the press. The writing and production of “Integrated Strategies” has been slow as I’m with limited resources. “Integrated Strategies” are able to provide new and improved answers to any political issue. Any environment or societal problem a new and certainly improved answer can be produced to any of the existing thinking through this methodology. The first reaction to any major problem in the world, should be before writing reports or anything, get an “integrated strategy” produced. That automatically will provide new insights and potential solutions. Reports write about the problem. Integrated Strategies write about the problem and a proposed solution that pulls into it the key information that is not considered. In the context of the fires in Australia the key piece of information not being considered required asking the question, What can Chinese philosophy juxtapose to the solving of the problem. That was where I found the source of the missing information, the piece of the puzzle that enabled me once I’d considered this to decode the entire problem and produce a completely new solution. Then the re is some research work from The Centre For Natural Design and Innovation, a desert research centre and then in terms of strategy looking to economy of motion and research on human movement, survival and endurance. This then was combined with basic principles remodeled from SunTsu. That’s how “Integrated Strategies” work. In the context of the big fires in our world which are so dangerous and people and animals are so vulnerable we need to construct machines big enough to fight the fires in new ways.
Therefore, what’s happened is that until now, where this paper begins is by asking the question Is there a much better way, more efficient, faster way to deal with these fires that anything ever tried before. The answer is yes and here i explain the theory. There is much more to this method explained here, however this is the theory. Putting this into practice can be very fast, yet does require much more input from me directly in the manufacture of the equipment process to do this in the most expedient way.
The fire crews are very brave, skilled, hard working, dexterous and they are hero’s in every sense of the word. However, the orders that are being passed down from the top of how to fight these gargantuan fires are based upon what “we have always done before” yet this issue and the underlying climate emergency reason for this is not something that has ever been dealt with before, it will radically get worse unless new ways are considered, debated, given platforms for debate to define a radically better answer.
So therefore, with all due respect to all, I have to say the way these fire’s worldwide are being extinguished is firstly not working well enough and secondly there is now here a hypothesis of a substantially improved way. That is my assertion and I outline my reasoning here. However, if this is not openly discussed and debated, then there is not better way immediately feasible. This vision needs to be heard if you want to see any improvements to how these fires worldwide are being extinguished.
The fires are causing the death of people, property, animals, businesses. On top of that this is counteracting all the actions being done worldwide by all people, governments and NGO’s to improve the environment.
There is potentially a new way, another way and it’s presented in this two part document.
This Strategy uses Integrated Strategies, models robotics. Orientates strategy upon nature-mimicry, incorporates natural design, incorporates the latest innovation in electric vehicles and combines all this into a powerhouse of new robust, viable strategies. These work together with existing methods, yet fine tune and improve upon them. Beyond design, this then incorporates a great many standard and readily available products including electric utility vehicles to produce a far better way to put out the fires. Therefore, what is really amazing about this plan is that if any government opens their wallet widely this whole plan could actually be instigated and a completely new method of firefighting never witnessed before can be up and running within a month. Therefore, setting new standards never accomplished before, boosting morale of the brave fire fighters on the front ine every day. They can feel for the first time a sense of relief that finally the cavalry have arrived to help them, defeat this climatic catastrophe that is causing havoc around the globe. We can bring it under control. It requires the study of this document, much of which has been written quickly due to the evident emergency of this issue. However, here goes;
This plan can help bring under control many fires and can potentially add 35% extra capacity to improve results and give the firefighters the very best morale boost they have had in months. This plan is completely viable, it’s straight forward to set up and it can finally change this onslaught of fire against people, animals and property and change the odds back into our favour..
Two weeks ago, I met a woman who told me a story of how their friend in Australia had to leave his home, escape onto the beach and get on a boat to get away from the bush fires in Australia. People are being forced onto the sea to escape with their lives? I mentioned that I had been writing “integrated Strategies” to solve many world issues. She said why don’t you write a strategy for Australia and the fires? So here it its;
Today the stories I read about animals are of half a billion destroyed by fires, that man considers are unstoppable even with the best fire fighting equipment and so many dedicated professional and volunteer teams, without rain. I believe there is a better answer that adds to the efforts of all and together with improved methods we can put out the fire.
Firstly and most importantly a massive sense of respect goes to all the people in Australia doing what they can to put out these fires on a scale never known before in human history. People risking everything to help save people, animals and property. People risking their lives just to try and maintain a relatively normal life in this changing world, where the balance is beginning to slip away. Yet, we can revive the balance if we apply the best thinking we can in the fastest timeframe.. This document is written with the purpose of supporting and helping these people’s effort, helping them to achieve more faster with putting these fires out..
Like with all of my papers, this paper provides answers that neither governments nor NGO’s are producing yet requests and requires medium and long term change too. It’s change we have the capacity to make today, yet tomorrow perhaps we won’t. This is to help Australia and therefore the planet. Here I present in a new thesis, comprising many new and improved ways that are viable to support and assist you in this worthy and all the much needed efforts for Australia.
Everyone who is on the front line of fighting this fire should have all the best equipment, working conditions and knowledge that’s feasible. This work is written with that consideration and that hope in mind of trying to define what could potentially be the best types of new equipment and support methods for those on the front line. For every moment you are standing up to this fire, you are doing something vitally important for your family, community, country, the world and all the people in the world.
This work is produced with the sole intention of trying to provide, write and define new strategies, we cannot be naive enough to think the only way that fires can be overcome is by looking to existing methods only, there will always be better ways. There has to be a real thirst and hunger to find them. When they surface they must be helped and supported or the only other out come is too little too late.
The way to progress is always to question is there a better way, can we do better, can we improve our thinking and practices? As this document is written Canberra, and many other cities, towns, and villages are in danger from this fire. The situation is in many places out of control, and there must be better ways than praying for the rain alone. There can potentially be more support, help and expertise and the nation of Australia a country that has so frequently been there to help so many other countries is in the greatest danger. However, “Integrated Strategies” that I write have been written in order to seek to solve the most complicated issues of our time, show vision to explore new ideas. The 35 Strategy papers written have provided new answers to many issues, in some circumstances their viability is today, tried, tested and proven. These documents I have been using to introduce new potential win-win answers. The win’s are for people and for planet. My work is Independent and is for all people and seeks to provide middle ground answers that the most politically diverse can find reasons to consider a good or the best way forward to many International issues. These documents have been posted on LinkedIn groups, sent directly to world leaders and sent to any contacts I have in either governments or The United Nations. My documents do not critique any one country or approach to a problem, they see to provide better and improved methodologies. This is how all advancements in science get made by producing a new thesis, so this is effecitively a new hypothesis on the approach that currently all countries apply to fire fighting. This hopes to provide a new way forward to be able to take on these fires, stop them and mitigate the destructive force they are having against all of us and this planet.
There are some eight pivotal decisions in the world that have in the past three years by the writing of Integrated Strategies. New helpful insights that have been life preserving. In order to produce these I have to research, innovate and consider information from specialist areas of expertise and question existing thinking paradigms. I have to be more of a “Generalist” than a “specialist” in order to be able to do this. So therefore, there I have to concede that anyone that professionals in the many areas I write on could question some of the data or assumptions made, there may be some aspects of this that require further discussion and consideration Therefore, when looking at this document or any Integrated Strategy, do not look for spelling errors, please look at the overall content and vision and when that is juxtaposed with expert insights into aspects of this, that is where the answer is found. An Integrated Strategy is a process and a part of that process is how decision makers decide to use the work. If they use it very well then we obtain results in the world like wars being prevented as has happened in the past. The fact is the world is already safer today than it was four years ago, due to Integrated Strategies and this fact cn be presented and proven in any court room. However, the objective of this document is not to win debates. The objective is to help produce a way that provides new ways to put out these fires and keep them out. In order to keep the fires out, requires stopping what is fueling them that requires short, medium and long term answers. Some super pro-active and obvious and some more speculative. The more speculative aspects of this are speculative only due to two factors. 1. A lack of investment. If there is enough investment in solutions humanity always finds a way. Whatever the mind can perceive and believe it can achieve, when properly funded. The second aspect is policy and where the considerations of man are. What is in the thinking? If the thinking is linked to Integrated Strategies, then there are new, never previously considered new answers that help people and planet. . There really have to be policies that are made that “Integrate” with new ideas and visions to create progress. The clues are global as to why this is happening and the science is irrefutable. Our climate issue is every day, you have to be completely deluded or bought out financially if you cannot see this today. We need and want the very best answers to keep this world safe and protected.
Is the methodology of defining new answers to age old issues unique to climate change and preventing, ending solving conflicts? There are examples of “Integrated Strategy” documents that have been written to introduce leaders with ways to start talks and negotiations and to end conflict. In my documents I use any available information to present my reasoning for why and how these “Integrated Strategies” work effectively for the specific task that the document seeks to answer. My peace work is always from “A Dove” perspective. It is for people, planet, peace and there are in every potential conflict situation that could cause wars, when properly considered there are always a vast array of reasons why talk and negotiations are the best and almost always the only viable, sensible and logical way forward when all perceptions are considered. The presenting of all these “Dove” perspectives are important challenges to “Hawk” perceptions and it is a great relief that my DOve work was heard and considered in The White House in various situations in the past three years and has helped avoid, stop conflicts, and shown a way to talks.
A few days ago I saw an article in the press that referred to the latest thinking in the military defense. With the vast resources it has, which could bring an end to famine worldwide with just a fraction what’s spent, yet that industries thinking has produced similar thinking in terms of the optimal ways for defense.
John Paschkewitz on national military specialist website reported on ABC News.
“The central idea is to be cheap, fast, flexible, and scalable,” the article reads. “Rather than building one expensive, exquisite munition optimized for a particular target, connect small unmanned systems with existing capabilities in creative and continually evolving combinations that take advantage of changing battlefield (fire and climate) conditions and emergent vulnerabilities. Put simply, it’s Voltron on the cheap: a human-machine team combining flexible unmanned systems with coup d’oeil (strategic intuition) at a tempo that an adversary cannot match.”
Whilst that is the consideration for defense, this is for defense against fires and climate change, both of which produce a major defense issue world wide. When countries no longer have water or the capacity to “control” their own environment to protect their cities then we can only look to the best thinking we can find in order to provide protection. So the reason I cite the above is just to show a quote that the best funded, expert thinking with the most investment, with the best experts in the world in terms of the military is producing answers similar to “Integrated Strategies”. This I believe is an endorsement of the strategic and tactical ability of this type of approach and therefore, if their experts believe it can improve the protection of the country and the defense of a country then I see this as confirmation that this type of thinking is legitimate in stopping fires and climate change. In the immediate situation in Australia, with these fires far too close to Canbbera if my methodology was used with the help of civil services such as the police or the army then I believe this could help get these answers instigated as quickly and effectively as is feasible.
Australian Fires V’s “An Integrated Strategy” For Australia.
Why this is a brand new method and why it’s a potential improvement on what’s done everywhere currently in the world.
Currently fires are fought either from the ground or from the air. What I introduce here is a way of using both land and sky through applying both drone technology and using a combination of new types of small, electric vehicles that are specially adapted in various ways to be able to be moved quickly from site to site and operate as a cluster of vehicles that carry out a combination of different duties either working together in various combinations. These new electric vehicle machines can be able to be operated by two people usually and may or may not apply a third using a drone for additional visual awareness of the fire. The combination of the machines replicate the tasks that are already being accomplished in part by very much more expensive and exquisite robots that are already under test. As you will see the text written above, citing the latest method for warfare that the best brains have come up with is a very similar methodology although for a completely different purpose. Their consideration is for obtaining advantage in conflicts, my method is for firefighting and originated from the methodology I have innovated to address climate change. What I find slightly ironic is the fact that the most severe concern to any country on this planet should not in the times we live be other countries but should be climate change. Climate change is a far greater adversary than any country can be. Climate change is global destruction without question. Therefore, in many ways the concern that pushes military thinking is frequently misplaced. There is a sense of “fear” that gets transferred into the need for more “defense” yet in reality their really is not defense against climate disasters that create their own weather systems and temperatures that will soon go higher than the human body can survive. However, having said that so much of the worlds innovation “begins” through military application firstly, this is well known by most innovators and the Internet is just one example and then the innovation takes on more domestic applications. The actual science of “Integrated Strategies” in themselves are completely benign and a recipe for making a cake or meal or the design of an engine is effectively an “An Integrated Strategy” They call their method mosaic. My method is called “An Integrated Strategy” and is referenced to my work of 2004 and previously. However, I use this methodology in terms of it’s application here for specifically the very urgent fire fighting issue in Australian and this can also be applied and used in fire fighting in California, Spain, Siberia, Canada. Many of the places that have had in recent years out of control fires that man has been unable to contain and thus are adding to very substantially not only a loss of life and property but contributing to rapidly increasing climate change the melting of permafrost and the releasing of increased gases which is fueling the greatest ever concern to all, that of climate change.
How to improve firefighting capacity by 35% or more.
The method I propose is different to any method ever tried before though and in terms of technology it is as much aligned to low-tech and intermediate technology more than hi-tech. The advantage if this is that the vehicles can be put together by combining off the shelf existing technologies that are adapted in particular ways to enable them to carry out the tasks required. This provides the exceptional advantage that these vehicles once tested and designed can be constructed by people with basic to intermediate engineering skills, can be operated by people with no skills other than those required for driving an electric vehicle and operating similar tools to those that would be used on construction sites.
What I provide in this document is not a one size fits all answer. No for the Australian fires it is a case of having a challenge that is vast and unequaled and the methods and the technologies being used currently are simply failing to be able to meet the requirements in being able to do the job effectively. So therefore, this document provides a whole new tool kit of tactics and strategies that can work alongside existing methods and in some ways improve and enhance them.
So why are these referred to being NINJA Tech. The reason is that firstly they are ground and air based. Secondly one of the main issues with fire fighting is height. The higher a fire, the more uncontrollable and potentially dangerous it is, the more challenging it is to concentrate water of any other substance to put it our as water dropped spreads out over a far wider space and therefore is less effective. Martial arts instructors will frequently admit that the safest and the most effective kicks are the kicks that are low down to the floor as possible. This is due to the fact the higher up a kick goes firstly the more risk there is of the kick being blocked, secondly the more risk there is to the person making the kick and thirdly the greater the chance of losing balance. So, the principles are similar to fire fighting. When using a fire extinguisher they teach to use it low down at the bottom of the fire. When there are high trees that fire fighters are up against, this is much more hazardous for them than fires on the ground. By using this new technology to reduce the height of the fires by being able to use extended equipment to cut and extract trees as the fire is either burning or as a preventative clearing method, fire breaks can be created. Fire height can be lowered and fuel that maintains the fire can be extracted. This therefore, provides a smaller area when used in conjunction with water being dropped by planes, this therefore helps concentrate the water more on a smaller area with less fuel in that location to have to extinguish.
The other part of this document and a theme in most of my “Integrated Strategy” documents are the social centre’s I refer to as Ecoplaza’s. I believe are particularly relevant and important for Australia today. The primary reason being that people are traumatized, upset, sad, disillusioned and desperate. People need the support and help of other people. There are certainly not any either technological answers to really being able to deal with the levels of societal trauma that are going on in Australia today. It is many generations since people were up against a force that they realized to a large extent neither they nor their government was able to be fully in control of. When that simple fact is considered alongside the fact that people who either have already lost either loved ones, their homes or are in fear of that. Or are worrie about their family members being on the front line in trying to fight this relentless problem, these people need all the help and support they can get. Yes, it begins with financial help, however there is more help, much more help they require. They need to be able to rationalize, understand, share and help themselves and others. They need access to things and people that can help them. People that can help their lives to be easier and so a part of this document is on the physical, part on the mental and part on the spiritual requirements of how to be able to deal with this seemingly never ending nightmare for Australia.
For people to have lost the homes, everything they have worked their entire working lives for is a loss that people who have not experienced that are unable to fully relate to or properly understand, so therefore the social side of this entire problem is something very important. People will be really desperate, they will be having ongoing trauma in their lives that they cannot adequately express in either writing or even in talking. The hardest tears being shed will not be the ones that others will even see, they are tears and wounds inside. So the experience of what is taking place and what is going on there in this document I attempt to address from many vantage points. The issue needs to be addressed in these multiples of ways. The reality is that the harm that is being done is to millions of different life forms that all play an essential role in the normal functioning of our world, by trying to take and use some of this and not all of it. In it’s full context is completely reductionist and actually completely irrational. It’s trying to convert a very complex solution to an infinitely more complex issue by just seeking to simplify as that’s the status quo in terms of paradigms of thought in today world. Going by the same thinking, from this “Human orientated interest perspective alone is as absurd as considering the only way it’s necessary for us to have the sea is as a supply tank to our fish eating requirements. So what i’m trying to drive home here is the fact that by trying to simplify “Integrated Strategies” into more simple idea’s is futile, illogical and could be likened to trying to reduce a car down to three working parts. When attempted finding the car doesn’t actually function in the way it should. So, yes “Integrated Strategies” and particularly this “Integrated Strategy” is very complex indeed. Usually I can explain, “An Integrated Strategy” in around fifteen to twenty pages. This is more than fifty pages, is without full explanations of the technical designs, is without diagrams, pictures and tests information and therefore this is a semi-brief outline. To produce a detailed description of this new technology would require more than twice the pages. With currently 14 years research covering just a few paragraphs.
Introduction of the proposed new technologies.
The product WD40 is called that as WD 1-39 did not quite achieved the result the inventor considered feasible. There is a very clear and defined requirement with the invention of everything for their to be developmental phases that enable the envisaged product or process to be designed and improved upon. There are in the region of ten new adapted innovations that I believe are feasible to produce here in order to obtain the desired result. All of them combined are using existing technologies that have just never been configured in the way I propose here as they have always been used for different applications. The proposal of using electric vehicles for fire fighting is new and there are immediate adoptions that would obviously need to be considered such as the fact that most electric vehicles use lightweight plastic or fiber glass materials on these would be impractical and therefore other materials such as fire retardant or fire proof rubber may be more practical. There may be other adoptions that can be made such as heat shields to protect the vehicles.
There are many other factors to consider too such as how far away from the place of work can extended components realistically work effectively and be controllable. Can this be extended using either cameras or drones to add visibility and enable fire fighters to be safer working further from the fire. An electric vehicle with components fifteen meters away from the fire I perceive as potentially being feasible, however this requires counterweighing the vehicle and possibly constructing small towers like a scaffold tower on top of the vehicles. If the vehicles can operate 20, 30 or 40 meters away then that is clearly safer and better. So the questions on both usability and distance are critical here for establishing what are the optimal distances from the fire to be able to work in terms of the results obtained coupled with maintain as safe as possible working environment. I believe the use of these types of vehicles would increase fire fighting safety considerably as currently fire fighters are all to often in and among the fire and this system enables them to be further away in all instances if the systems and methods conceived here in trials and tests prove to work as effectively as I believe they could do. The design of the vehicles cannot really be very well related to vehicles that we know of, they would be different and have different wheels and different component parts that make them look more like land boats, yet they would vary in shape and design very much. There would be elements like excavation equipment, and flying machines using drone technology. When used together, they would look almost like a group of dinosaurs subduing and controlling the fires. Yet, with them having the power over water and fire in their use would best be referenced to being more like electric dragons and Eco-Ninja fire buggies. The power of them is as an “Integrated Force” firstly, secondly they are applied differently for different applications. In the same way that you have layers of a cake, there are layers of interaction with the fire. The principle theories remain the same.
There also need to be both hydraulics, winches, anchors, rollers, braces, pins which are quick release mechanisms too for hooks if they are pulling out trees and get snared then the quick release mechanisms would enable the vehicles to have the option of dropping equipment for recovery and the core first principle of evacuation. Evacuation priority plan. 1. Drop and release equipment as a standard. 2. Drop utility fittings if required. 3. Always with a minimum of two evacuation methods.
The dynamics of fire. If an upright tree is burning then it is has the chance to burn on all sides and the capacity of the fire is increased due to the height providing additional wind, due to there being vertical fuel. If the tree is on the ground then there is 30% less area that can be immediately burned, there is less wind, the stacking of wood makes reducing air on two sides. It is much harder to set a piece of paper on fire if it is lying on a flat surface than if it is in the air. Therefore, the principle is always get the fire onto the ground. The ground itself is a fire fighting tool in this situation. The ground, the Earth is there to help. We use the ground for our advantage. So the equipment is designed for the purpose of bringing the fire to the ground with some extraction.
This helps; 1. Disrupt the fire, 2, Part smother the fire, 3. Removes the quantity of unbeneficial wind, 4. Better manage the smoke. 5.Better manage heat. 6. Concentrates water on a smaller are. 7. Reduce evaporation, 8. Reduces surface area of the fire, 9. Makes the fire safer to handle. 10. Reduces the surface area that enables the fire to jump onto adjacent trees, 11. Reduces water use on adjacent trunks. 12 enables the ground to be an asset. 13. Separates the one fire into sections of fire, therefore further suppressing, stifling, disrupting the fire in multitudes of ways at once.. What this also does is this then aligns the fire in one place to be able to blow back onto the fire to prevent progression. Therefore, to some extent with the use of water and wind the natural process of the natural forward progression of fire through trees and forests is disrupted in multiples of ways simultaneously. The blowing back into the fire additionally enables the water to be reused as the wind blows the moisture used on the first part of the fire to add to the moisture being directed at the fire further inside. The additional advantage of this system is that rather than fires burning out completely, there will be much half burned wood which encourages the more rapid recovery of ecosystems.
Then once the fire is out and made safe it could be feasible to move into the deforested area with the small vehicles that drive over logs, yet between trees that were saved. The advancement into any partially forested area would be limited and the vehicles used would depend upon the topography and access.
Is this system safer or less safe than the current methods used?
The current methods used are 1/ Air 2/ Fire engine 3/ manual volunteer. All of these have inherent risks. The “Integrated strategy” enables fire crews to work significantly further away from the fire than manual volunteers and at least as far away as those using hoses in some cases I would estimate twice the distance and without having to work closely to vehicles powered by flammable liquids. (My recommendation is that fire engines in any case increasingly use electric vehicles) However, in most cases although the equipment directly interacts with the fire, the people using it are far away. So with this being potentially far more effective than the tactics used by volunteers being so close to the fire and with fires currently being high up, this system I believe would not only be safer than existing methods in every case. By using this method it can make the other methods safer too. Why? The planes would have options to be able to drop water on fallen trees rather than upright tree, thus improving performance and safety. 2. Volunteers can work away from the fire in putting out extracted trees. 3. Fire engines would be less susceptible to trees that can spit and explode such as trees such as Eucalyptus and Pine. By bringing the fire down reduces the capacity of sparks to either start more fires or to endanger fire crews. By reducing the height reduces the distance that sparks can travel and the capacity of the wrong wind. Roads provide essential access points to the fires and whilst a road is a natural fire break of sorts, in other words it can work sometimes, other times due to the height issue the fire jumps across the road. So therefore, in this case the fire breaks through this method can be increased so with fires this enables the road network as a fire break tactic to have additional methods of improving performance and containing fires.
There are a great many logistics to being able to take this from the written word into actual use and in order to do that a test site is required where these innovations can be tried, tested and refined before going into the field and being used. This site needs to have indoor engineering and warehouse facilities. It also needs to have flat areas, hilly areas, a construction rubble hills and logs of many sizes. An extended outside area where trials are feasible.
There may be one or two unforeseen circumstances also to some of these innovations that I do not yet know or have not considered although these will be on a tweaking level and nothing more.
There will be knowledge that both professional fire fighters, engineers and volunteers have through their experience actually on the front line and this will improve the innovations. The method of innovation is that we have to do WD1-39 on ten innovations very quickly so that the improvement of equipment requires an open mind for improvement there are no “prima dona” aspects to any of this, it is all about enabling the most rapid design to field process and so collective contributions by specialists juxtaposed to these innovations and the proposed optimal method has to be as streamlined, and expedient as is feasible with an openness to improve each and every aspect of innovation as quickly as possible.
So whilst to some extent there is a learning curve to turning this from theory into practice I do sincerely beleive that of the ten or primary innovations that I’m thinking of here at least eight of them will be viable, usable, practical and will be advantageous to making improvements of the current situation immediately and can be made in a few days if the supplies are available. These electric vehicles that I’m lift one ton in weight. However, what they can lift in weight and the weight their towing capacity is unknown, however that towing capacity is used in different ways so by using hydraulic winching systems and double winching systems capacity is increased and then improved again by the use of multiple task vehicles together as they work in unison in the form of clusters as mentioned. Just in the same way five men together can lift and move much more than three men together, it is the same with these vehicles. So systems of how vehicles coordinate together and having diverse places to practice prior to going in the field with these is a requirement. Communications is essential between driver and navigator and would be similar to rally drivers with their navagator.
Australian Fires- The first country where nature is so evidently opposing development
Australian fires are affecting vast swathes of Australia. They are causing floods across East Africa and they are causing hazardous smoke to affect South America. Fire and the effects of fire are everywhere in Australia. This is the highest category of climate emergency of any country on Earth and it is affecting directly and immediately two other continents. Globally the influence of those fires that are outside of the control of the Australian government, there are massive global consequences in CO2 rises that are incalculable, ongoing, relentless.
Proportionately all aspects of Australian society are under a short, medium and long term emergency without the most effective, robust and combined response instigated this could be the second chapter in the decline of Australia. The first chapter being in 2007. The scale of the devastation is proportionately as high to the country as any country for decades.. The correct response has to be multi-layered, a network of solutions type response, a robust, elaborate and as effective as any strategy required since the 1940’s in order to preserve the country and overcome this, yet the response began slow at times has been contradictory, and confused. Here, I challenge, question and add suggestions and new complimentary concepts to improve all aspects of the fire issue in Australia and present a thesis of how this can realistically be overcome in ways that no strategist has ever presented previously..
For some towns, cities and islands there is already devastation, whilst nature can regenerate in some ways half a billion animals have perished. The regeneration is very slow and yet the effects could repeat or even be ongoing. However, Australia’s struggle to contain these fires, is certainly not Australia’s concern alone. The adverse weather effects and own weather effects this is creating is affecting East Africa with massive floods, that affect homes as well as food supplies. The smoke of Australia is affecting South America too. These are the immediate effects, yet more profoundly why this really is a world issue is due to the fact that if Australia cannot handle this crisis effectively now, then nowhere else will be able to handle the same in future. The drying up of landscapes, desertification, long hot summers with record temperatures are drying the entire world. So what’s happening in Australia today unless overcome is a challenge to every country in future unless immediate steps are taken to solve the symptoms as well as the cause of this problem. With the current method neither the symptoms nor the cause are being effectively dealt with. This strategy potentially produces many new answers to both. It does so in a way that is not only economically workable, but economically beneficial. Where changes and reductions to one industry can create and instigate twenty other green Industries. That is if the concepts within are followed and the Ecoplaza model is a part of this too.
The greatest developmental challenge since space travel.
This is mans greatest test on this planet since our evolution. This is modern man v’s nothing less than natures best defenses against our neglect through destabilization to the planet.
There are two types of cruelty, cruelty through willful behavior and cruelty through neglect. This is the response to a combination of both towards Earth. Our fossil fuels are affecting all our living systems. Our neglect of protecting and regenerating the environment outlined in almost every text, scripture and belief system dating back thousands of years is indicating from then until now the potential pitfalls of human progression. There are clear indications of how to prevent the wrong way of our development and many references to the need for man to have effective soil management methods. Without that we lose our homes and ability to live well on this planet. We have very broad imaginations and mind and there is the chance to have all types of distractions, yet this climatic issue now is the one focus that we have really needed to draw the line on what has appeared to many to be a controllable crisis to what many of us have been warning of for decades this is a challenge to our, to your existence on this planet. This is the situation whether it is admitted or not. Climate change is as dangerous as it gets for people and animals in this world.
Australia today is the first indication of a changed environment, where even after all we know, and all we think we know we are following the same line of evolution of the Dodo, with it’s limitations, it was unable to survive it’s changing world. Since then we have experienced the largest levels of extinction of species since the dinosaurs. Australia as an island is potentially becoming as difficult for man to live and thrive well in. Like with the heating of the seas the environment there becomes unsuitable for species that have lived there for millions of years. Like that too Australia is a failing environment for both the animals and the people there.
In terms of how the situation in Australia is to progress, unless there is wide scale action of a very coordinated and coherent nature. The people of Australia could well become climate refugees. It’s already true within the country to say some already have become this. We are seeing the first signs of what could become a much larger problem with many other countries going the same way. Australia finding it difficult to have the same functioning, increasingly progressive and comfortable lifestyle that it has experienced for generations. What is happening today there will happen tomorrow in South America, in Africa, in Finland, in France, UK everywhere. Why would it not with the drying up of land and the ever changing weather. We have to align with our environment or our environment will level civilizations both economically and environmentally. So the intention of this document is to provide an answer, a real, authentic lasting answer that avoids the negative scenario presented. My work in it’s entirety is a viable, possibly the only viable method in the world for not only helping solve Australia’s issues but in helping adapt entire economies to be able to mitigate far, more effectively than they are doing presently. The notion that saving the environment causes a loss of employment is simply not true, by providing a value to the environment that should have been there from the beginning and yet hasn’t been, there are many new green industries that provide ways for the old industries to adapt.
This document sources the modern and the ancestral knowledge of Australia and sees how this aligns to knowledge with the same meaning worldwide. The notion of protecting the soil and managing the land is 14,000 of knowledge. This knowledge is revisited and lets be honest the aborigines know more of the nature in Australia than the more recent settlers. This knowledge as a part of this plan should all be gathered used and considered. This knowledge can link in new ways with new technological methods to produce new ways to keep their villages, towns and cities safe. This looks to the most practical it looks to the authentic original ancestral. Each area as relevant and important as each other. We have to use every resource, insight, perception and branch of knowledge we can find and make use of if we are to produce a process of the best working practice in solving this. No stone should be left unturned in the endeavor for generating answers.. We have to look at who are the Australians, what is their psyche and how can the very best of all those latent resources that are Australia, how can all of that be tapped into and utilised. We look to bush skills which can provide individual families and communities with information. Which plants suppress fire? There are some succulent plants that hold water and are of use to be planted around properties. Similarly why should shrubs close to properties by moved or removed? How small walls can potentially hold back a fire from a house. How best to evacuate a property, and so leaving water and food in a place that people can find them and use them if required. Leaving baths, containers full of water on the property etc.. We have to look to the land, the sea, the sky, the people, the landscape the myths, the cultures the legends to find a way for Australia the country, the continent the Island we all love to fight off the greatest ever affront to Australia. When you see a large fire burning out of control, it is like seeing a wall of destruction approaching. I have seen this first hand in Spain with a fifteen km fire. Whilst some fires will be raging from hundred foot trees, others will simply be low level scrub fires, others perpetuated by cm thick grass.. With the right new methods here applied these can be put out in various new and effective ways.
The Australians as people have been there for the west, they have always been their like reliable pillars to Western civilizations. Australia has been their for the East too and many countries and people feel a great affinity to the Australians. They are the most loved visitors to Indonesia and recently I was with an Australian and a group of ten or so Indonesians in Jakarta during the floods and they were saying “if only we could do more to help Australia”. The USA and the UK have so many reasons to be appreciative and thankful to Australia both countries have been helped on so many occasions by Australia and Australian’s proportionately it’s time to say thank you Australia and for everything, you have been good for us, lets return the goodwill that Australia has given to the world. There are connections and projects between Indonesia and Australia that can include the upcycling and use of waste plastic, 3 D printed to form new lightweight fire fighting equipment.
Why fire is different to anything for man.
What’s cited as the birth of our evolution and development is cited as the discovery of fire. Wouldn’t it be ironic if the fire element that created everything we know of civilization starting with people settling and then agriculture through to the combustion engine made with a spark to the computer all possible by harnessing the power of fire and heat was to bring our downfall. What made our civilization, destroyed our civilization. No, to get over this, to reach beyond where we are we have to think and act in a positive way, with constructive correct and affirmative action. However, before we get there lets go down, deep down into the government response with a critique. However, before doing that. It’s important to provide a caveat; In many ways fire is one of the most confusing elements for man. People frequently are very shocked by fire and it requires consideration to know how to react.. There are consistent examples where flight recorders have shown that when there have been airoplane accidents, many passengers who could theoretically have got out were so overcome by the sudden shock, that they sat in their seats until they died due to either smoke or flames. It has been proven time and again that when man and fire come into conflict so frequently man does actually not know what to do at first. Whilst I believe this is so for individuals it could be the same for societies. There were findings from doctors that Alzheimer’s was not getting the study that it required and the question was considered, could that be due to the fact that so many doctors get Alzheimer’s. So there could be a tendency with fire to not want to really consider the issue in depth due to the fact that it is so incredibly fear inducing in everyone. We have all learned from a young age to be fearful of fire. So when it comes to considering best options for dealing with fire, there may not be the full analysis and consideration of what is feasible in terms of defining a method, a societal wide method for dealing with the crisis.
There are many examples of planes where the passenger on board had time to unfasten their seat belts stand up and leave the plane and they just sat there. So whilst I question, analyise and critique the response of the government so far. I do so in order to then provide what can be a better answer. I do this from the perspective of someone who has spent fourteen years getting my training living in the outback, albeit in the outback of rural Almeria, Spain. However the conditions in a great many ways are very similar to Australia and the knowledge I can transfer does not come from books and theory alone.
The reason I went to live in “the outback” of Spain was in order to obtain the training that I knew the books, libraries and Universities did not have. Knowing that the knowledge would be important in future for climate change. Knowledge that is practical, resource use knowledge that is usable and transferable to defining and developing the optimal responses to climatic disasters. My training in the Uk and in Spain Almeria, related to all the types of experience that would be had in the world in the context of climate and in the context of living in a close proximity to nature, whether it was fixing, building, catching spiders or snakes to re-release them, whether it was developing ways to lift and move items, live with or without electricity and with limited water supplies at times. There were many team work challenges, how do we lift and move a one ton rock? How do we pull down a floor with rope, how do we build a rapid build home that can provide alternative housing after weather disasters? What resources can we source and use to improve soil quality and regenerate the desert, converting it into lush gardens? There were so many millions of insights that we gained and shared, some to NGO’s and some in these “Integrated Strategy” documents. Usually we found a way through or found someone that could help us find a way through. All of the years of experience with that are the basis of this work.
The most enduring lesson of the outback.
There are no illusions to the outback, only our own illusions and time there helps us learn the difference between what we think is true and what is not true at all, just perception. If you have the illusion you can cope with a flood without knowledge of how to cope with a flood then hopefully you soon learn. Therefore, talking to others, to our elders, learning the ways of nature and how to best be with nature are path of the course to surviving and thriving. It’s all about how we best utilise the best information we can find. It is what it is and how we adapt to the conditions and constraints that it is not us that determines but nature, how to adapt to it rather than hoping it will adapt to us. In our cities we can delude oursleves that we are in charge of everything. Yet, this idea is only propped up with nature being on our side and that requires us being on nature’s side too.
Propaganda, delusion, spin doctoring are all man made, its a modern day media delusion, a perception bubble that so many films in the past have caught very well. What happens when the city folk come face to face with nature under adverse circumstances. Everyone has a steep learning curve and that is what we were trying to learn and join the dots up on in the context of the future relationship we have with nature due to climate change and how best to adapt. In an age of people more attuned in many ways to taking selfies, perhaps the comment nature would make is, if only every time a person thought about themselves, they thought about others and the needs of nature and planted a tree.
It’s an interesting observation to note though how much of a propensity people have for thinking of themselves routinely without sparring a thought for others and nature. That is what the worlds media machine wants us to believe, yet people are more complex and the power for cooperation is vast, untapped and really the path to the survival of all. It’s a three musketeers scenario where it’s all of one and one for all in the context of how we find new ways to adapt to the conditions in this modern world, which we are only just starting to see emerge and must now find ways never previously considered to thrive in.. Whilst that is a slight detour on the subject. What is clear is that nature operates by absolutes and there is no room for negotiation. There is only room for us to be able to position our thinking and perspectives away from the deep reality of the situation. In the context of the more inflexible position of nature. Nature calls the shots, this may be 200MPH winds, fires creating weather systems, or cities crumbling in minutes that require us decades to reconstruct. For want of a better way of putting it, the world both nature’s and mans is changing, morphing into something else and doing so at an alarming rate and if we do not adapt to that and seek to hold that change back and keep balance, we will fall, our civilizations will fall. Our so considered reality of tv, social media aren’t cities amazing bubble will get burst. None of us really know how far nature can go against us. Twelve months ago there was not even any thought, considerations on the most in tune social media connected executive about the possibility of fires creating their own weather systems. Yet today one of the great cities of our world civilization stands at the point of potentially being flattened by the phenomenon. We have got to admit that our top, most qualified, most highly respected scientists have only very basic knowledge when it comes to exactly what the impacts of climate change are in our immediate world. How best to handle our climate emergency is something that we will either take very, very seriously now or next year or the year after we will do what 98% of scientists today predict, we will bring down our species and civilization. There really are no if’s but’s or other ways to see this in a more “conservative “ and measured way. The writing is on the wall. It’s adapt fall. Change or change. If we are cowards in not standing up for nature today, nature will produce ever more ways to knock us down tomorrow. The fires in Australia are huge, they seem so vast, yet this could be just the first indications of what’s to come, not only in Australia, but everywhere. If you think economy comes first, bees come before economy. Without bees there is no economy. If we can be wise enough to learn from bees then we will support the hive. Our hive is the world. Whilst what you see are words, these words are a rope being thrown out, a lifeline to human and animal communities that are otherwise failing in this world. Not acknowledging the failing is as futile as considering things disappear when you put your finger in front of your eyes and look with alternate eyes. The truth is everywhere, in the tiniest of signs like a species in the sea failing to adapt as much as it is in the fact that a capital city is facing a fire that it does not have the capacity to control without a very serious and deeply profound rethink. If Canberra can meet the challenge and overcome, then every city can. If Canberra cannot than no city can. It could be said that in this scenario, every city is Canberra. Canberra is a model, a template for the rest of the world to learn from. Does man have the capacity to hold these fires back? Or have we found our evolutionary nemesis, in the way of fire casued by climate change? The effect on Canberra is an indicator of the future for potentially many human habitations. I hope here to provide a way whereby Canberra can come back from the edge and win against the fire. How that can then be a template that can be used for Sydney, Melbourne and then in many countries. I hope and think I really do have an answer and yet the only way to know is by uptake of this, trial and error, improvement and refinement. All of that requires belief and support of trying something new, something that really can help Australia and thus the world find a way through this.
We adapted to nature by the invention of fire, by the harnessing of agriculture, by the building of villages, towns and then cities. However, we have pushed nature too far and the clues everywhere and here of how we can respond in a way that is in our best interests.
Feed the World or Feed the climate emergency?
It was in 1985 that there was an unfathomable drought that affected Ethiopia. The response to that at the time could not have been better. Although at the time, it was not envisaged that this was the first of so many extreme weather events that woudl go from a seeming one off in one part of the world to becoming a constant everywhere. We are not yet at the stage of extreme weather being a constant locally, however we are certainly at the stage of extreme weather being a constant globally. For every skill we have either collectively or society wide we begin being Consciously incompetent, we progress to being inconsistently consciously competent, getting it right some of the time. From there we go to being consciously competent and then become real masters of the new discipline as we become consciously competent. Where we are and certainly where Australia is today is consciously incompetent.
To go beyond this, even by one stage beyond this demands something that politicians have never had to admit before in the history of world politics. The history of politics dating back so far beyond the time of Australia’s founding dating back so far before the Vikings, Romans or even the first time the shores of Iberia were settled. For the first time ever in Australia it makes not the slightest difference what words are said in the context of this fire disaster. It is all down to strategy, actions. Strategy is the deciding factor as to whether or not a company runs, a country functions properly, whether a house gets built or whether man can overcome this challenge, the greatest challenge to man since flying. Man successfully found ways to master Earth, Sea, Air and Fire. However now our mastery of all of these is being called into question with Australia’s inability to keep on the side of mastery of fire. This is contributing and causing turmoil for Earth, Sea and Air.
In terms of words; leaders could say from now on we will dedicate 50% of all our waking time to dealing with the climate emergency or they could say I’m a giant purple spotted hippopotamus. Words carry no weight, no strength and almost no relevance? Why? The words of politicians have always carried so much weight and power within the broader context of man not also needing to be in control of the Earths increasingly temperamental weather systems. That was not just from the year dot until now. That was a time frame stretching back to the very start of civilization. Never mind celebrating new year or even new millennium, we have just crossed the threshold of a much more significant milestone in time. This is where the Earth behaved in a way that was predictable. Humans have had reasonably predictable conditions for thousands of generations. We have no of our ancestors have not had to deal with. Never mind thinking about modern day Australian and America. Never mid thinking about the age of discovery in Europe or to the older age of Discovery in Asia, or quite possibly the earliest age of discovery some 70,000 years ago leaving from Africa. We are faced with the most significant challenge towards our right to exist in this world, our right to have businesses, our right to have countries, our right to have homes, schools, civilization itself. Every aspect of our existence from us being putted down and put in our place by fire in Australia has got to be challenged and dealt with in a ways that is in alignment with the reality of the situation. It is not a question of whether we like the situation or not. We may not light going to bed at night, as we prefer to stay up and do things, however we have limitations. The limitations that nature puts onto us we have no other choice but to deal with. The limitation of the Situation in Australia is that this is not all about Australia’s decision to want to mine it’s own coal or not. The effects are worldwide in terms of discussion and beyond discussion this is already affecting East Africa and South America.
. There is a plain scientific truth to all this. There is one scientifically proven method of agriculture and development that worked effectively for 50,000 years there is another methodology of land management that has not even made it to 300 years yet. The progress was exponential for centuries, yet now we see the first indications of what unless resolved could be a major decline. Our world is reliant upon technology brought about by something called science chooses to acknowledge the science in one way yet ignores it in the ways that actually matter the most to the people. People cannot live without shelter. Shelter or homes are the first pre-requisite to human civilization. Take away the homes and you take away civilization. When civilization goes, do not expect people to behave in the way they did when they had homes, security and stability. If people are poor, desperate, homeless, exhausted and sick and tired of being sick and tired. Which will be how some people will be after they have lost everything and either have to depend upon only themselves to get back on their feet or depend upon others, which causes more stresses to more people. The harsh reality is that the free ride, the good times, the pretend the world resources are like free sweet shop are over. We have to stop pretending we are so much smarter than nature and start admitting that nature calls increasingly more of the deciding capacity in how we live in the age known as today.
Therefore, the words had credibility and yet today there is a really harsh reality, in the past few months man has gone from being in charge on this planet and represented by the leaders of countries as the heads of mankind. To a situation where the fire in Australia is out of all control and calling the agendas of man into question as never before. Will we be beaten by nature? Will we be pushed into submission and then extinction? This is a challenge to the entire history of our development as human beings. If we do exactly what all the generations have done before, then we get very different results to what they got. We are paying the price of generations just taking from nature without consideration for centuries. Those that went before did not have to care about the environment, did not even have to consider it. We do, we pay the price for them, and if we do not pay the price then the next generations pay more. If we take up a sense of a responsibility and really believe in ourselves and our abilities to be able to change the world for the better then we can, however to do that requires leaders make right choices and we encourage there good actions.
In essence the entire concept of politics itself is about as relevant to the situation in Australia as a floating leaf is upon the Atlantic. Our life systems that we depend upon are failing. We can’t keep climbing up when the Earth below our feet is falling away. Elections, Political spin, getting votes next day, week, year, century or millennia is irrelevant in the perceptions of the world. Nature always was so much bigger than man, however like the robot that goes rogue against what provided it with life in the first place, the Earth provides us with life, yet we have developed the creative capacity the filtering system in our minds, backed up by our media that the world revolves around us, when in fact it does not we just got very lucky for a few centuries. So that luck finally ran out. It is the moment where the Earth is saying hey human ants, behave.
The truth’s of nature and intrinsic to the Australian people and the vast landscape. The European way is 232 years of British and European based ideas of the land set against a backdrop of 50,000 years of settlement by the aboriginal people previously. The semi nomadic people had fixed homes that they returned to and highly advanced land management and agricultural methods.
The Dreamtime continent has a vastness about it that dwarfs man, an hours drive into the outback and we see how vulnerable we are. Human’s and their intentions and personal image and political party leanings or vested interest are inconsequential to the rules of nature Australia itself has.
. Australia is facing a change or change scenario. The viability of Australia as a functioning country is being threatened by these fires.
The most primeval, elemental basic, and basis of Australia is being challenged in a way that no other society has been challenged. If for a moment from now on there is anything other that the most honest, the most elemental, the most profound societal discussion realization, the most truthful and profound realization that Australia as a society, culture and country cannot be like another version of any other country. The country itself cannot function when their are fire alarms being set off around office buildings that are in themselves causing the offices to close. Australia has to go back, it has to go right back . Look deeply at all that Australia is, not the projection of Australia but take an inner journey into the heart, mind, soul, the intrinsic knowledge of that vast and unique landscape and ask profound questions that start to look at Australia in a new way that can from here begin to shape a new way of life. In order to survive Australia has to do a leap from the age of today into the age of tomorrow. Australia can be defined as having had three ages. Age 1. The Ages of the aboriginal people. 2. The age of the aboriginal people, then British and Europeans.. 2. A new time where the limitations of nature and a development program being well aligned to the wisdom of aborigines and their land use thinking combined with that of the best of all the modern day knowledge Additing to that the qualities that make up the resourceful nature of Australia and Australians. .
Back to the outback.
Australia is either the outback or the outback light. Outback light meaning the outback that has been tamed by man a little and only under some circumstances. These corcumstances are that there is an overall development modality in complete alignment with the direction that the rough Australian hinterland dictates to man. Stay from that for a bit and you may be ok, or have the impression you are ok for a couple of tens of decade. Yet stray for that for too long and too far and the timeless configuration of the landscape will create a reset. Modern people are frequently out of touch with the ages. They are so fooled into this idea that it’s all about now and the next thirty seconds, it’s all about being able to put a good idea into a sentence. Yet, the best ideas can require indepth explanations to get over the seemingly natural tendency for people to by reluctant to consider new ideas. Everyone loves a new idea when it has already caught on. To get a new idea notice, supported and to benefit in some or any way from that is a science in itself. Something happens so frequently, usually and that is that the original concepts gets displaced by a lesser verion or copy that had more money behind it.
The Aborigines are and were well behaved guests in Australia the recent European and Asia immigrants less so in terms of understanding the needs of nature. Australia, the country the continent is a place of extremes the hottest temperatures, the most poisonous snakes and spiders. The harshest conditions. Man has got to recognize rules and limitations in this land, this profound cathartic land of nature to human reckoning or mankind in that place, and under those conditions will be vanquished. There is no discussion or debate. Handle a Red back spider in correctly and that’s the end. There are not averages in nature as man always likes to consider as the most profound and learned way of looking at nature. Nature is about extremes at times. Handle a red-back spider on average in a very responsible way proves the point. It is the extremes of nature, the incapacity of man in ensuring averages are kept, balanced and maintained that produces the extremes. It requires only a minute, one single minute of the wrong type of temperature on this planet to wipe out entire continents of people. With the Corona Virus nature is once again providing man with another example to confirm that it really is not the averages of nature that count. If on average you have never in your lifetime come into contact with someone with the Corona virus you are still not safe. It requires only one mistake, mishap, mis- judgment or miss-calculation or bad luck and whilst that is true for one person, that’s true for a family or an entire city or the entire population of the world..With stopping or being able to reverse a trend of more and more people infected it comes down to both leverage and timing. We use many technologies together to add leverage towards the containment of this. Yet, ultimately it is the speed at which we are able to find, develop or use a remedy, a medicine which determines whether we succeed or not. If we do not succeed in gaining enough leverage over coronavirus then it could gain leverage over us. The same is true with the fires in Australia and with climate change. Whilst coronavirus if it is as bad as Spanish flu will affect millions, climate change, billions, everyone.
Australia climatically, topographically and in terms of flora and fauna is extreme. Make a mistake and you can be stung by a Box jellyfish that gives you an hour or two to live. A crocodile with it;s mighty jaws. Even if you are the best swimmer or surfer paddling out to sea looks like a stranded, injured or struggling seal to tiger sharks. The flapping on the surface makes even the strongest of mankind look like an incompetent to eyes of nature and how it perceives grace and strength. Makes the Olympic gold winners look lesser than anything else in the animal kingdom. Yes though us humans can compensate our physical weakness in comparison to all ot the natural world. Whether it is elephants that can squash us by just deciding to have a rest. Whether it is ants that can lift nine times their body weight or whether it is birds like the humble sparrow that proportionately have more strength to fly than any line up of power lifters combined. We in the natural world are physically inferior to almost all species with the sizes, shapes, strengths, speeds of our bodies in all areas other than one. That is our brains. Our brains, our intelligence without this we would be no more than average in the ecosystem, if we would be even able to survive. That is all of us, even our most amazing. Yet where we thrive though is in thinking, cognition and the use of our brains that sets us apart and even then we have not got the capabilities in terms of sensory capacity of dolphins, sharks, dogs or cats and many other species when some comparisons are made. Yet, it’s the human brain that is unmistakably our best asset. It is this than enables us to build submarines that take us to the depths of the Ocean, Rockets into outer space. Psychology into inner space, enable us to communicate like a single organisam on the internet and enable us to connected to our most conscious selves throuhg practices like prayer and meditation. Our great mind enables us to quanify, qualify, record, speculate and expand our civilization globally every day in so many ways. Today, though that great brain of ours which has had the limitations with the natural world alarm bleeper going off for the past thirty years can assess the situation as it has, confirm the situation as it has, innovate potential answers as it has and then act on those. If we are not doing all of those, then we are doing something we have never done before. That is not using our minds to their best ability. For the first time we are playing dumb to science, science that we depend upon for survival.
Just like with sport, business and music, with saving the planet timing is everything.
We are having a time crisis in Australia. Are we going to accept that we have had a pretty good run on this planet, we have got away with so much in terms of how we have benefited from nature, a stable climate and the animal kingdom and now properly adapt all of of society into alignment with the challenge. Or are we going to carry on in a deluded unrealistic way because a few deluded people, that present themselves as “respectable businessman” or “leaders” present the false idea, that we can continue to develop whilst cearly destroying the ground we stand upon during the process. Aparently being able to do this indefinitely without consequence?
The Earth, nature, God’s manifestation on this planet, Climate Change, define the situation as we will. Australia a land of extremes will not put up with wishful thinking in terms of nature management and preservation. When does the real emergency get seen as a real emergency? Do it require the loss of a major city, Sydney or Melbourne for example? Before it’s admitted that the development pattern is wrong and does not even work for either the people or even the economy any more. What happens then if there is a city of refugees? It was not Cape Town due to water last time, they handled that crisis, yet where will be the first city to become inhabitable for one reason or another due to climate change. When it happens to one, will that simply we a one off or will it go from one to ten to thirty? Will governments or companies pay compensation to entire cities of people? How much profit can really be derived from these misguided developmental ventures, is it more value than the entire value of any Australian city obtained in the past decades? Of course not, so therefore, with these types of risks being real it must be accepted that it is economic mismanagement to go with any more climate degrading projects and go with many climate enhancement projects.
The only adaption that is actually possible and to maintain the way of life is to adapt all aspects of the society and that means the economy. It’s not only a case of having to say no to projects or to say invest in something that is good for The Australian people and the world too. It’s clearly a case where the entire development plan of Australia for generations up until now needs everything looked at and improved upon. Australia can go from being the country most affected at the moment to helping to redefine how countries can be in future, and in alignment to the needs and demands of nature. If such a young country as Australia is unable to believe in itself and in it’s future in a way that people can genuinely believe is taking on board the true circumstances of the situation then it’s going to change in the next decade in a very negative way. It really is a case of either man takes control and charge of the change or nature will change how we are.
All progress made in society will be like hamsters on a wheel where people have to run ever faster just to try and have the lifestyle many had in the past. Yet, this will not be feasible or viable, so failure is looming unless there is a major coordinated and coherent change and improvement to society that puts sustainability are firmly central to all business and human activity. Like the internet being a single organism of communication our actions can become like a single organism of many millions of improvements. Send an email plan a tree, weekend in the country and join one of the vast local tree planets. Did you realise there were 100,000 participants last week planting trees sponsored by businesses. Wonder how many there will be next week? With a million trees in the ground and the party afterwards with 100,000 people, what a day out.
If man wants a good future, factoring nature in many new ways is the best path forward. Any other path taken will cause not a slight degeneration of people’s lifestyles, but people will be catapulted increasingly more towards poverty amid a failing human system economic system in collapse due to the ecological system also being in a state of collapse. Currently, its reversible, yet as tipping points get me we go from slim chance to no chance in trying to clamber back what we consider traditional lifestyles in a Western Society. There is no what if thesis of if we do plant trees by the trillion. A trillion or two is a tiny amount when we consider that we are in the billion. When we consider trees and plants are low cost to produce and to plant can be lower cost. When we consider there are desert varieties such as Agave and Spekboom succulent, both absorb vast quantities of greenhouse gases. That then creates far wider motivation towards renewable energy.
The reality is Australia has two choices either do not fully adapt to the reality of the situation in which case the country is the first country since the Maya to face complete ecological, economic, social and societal colapse or embrace the new, force through the true adaptations that are required. The adaptation back to the balance of natures ecosystems, n which case Australia can become the first example of a country that has done this and prosper as a result. The entire notion of being able to stick your head in the sand and pretend that anything from now will carry on as normal is is a complete absurdity. Now instead is an opportunity to awaken and to awaken the entire Earth to make a new dream for the world can become realized. In the next twenty years we will see many countries flounder. The laws of nature says enough is enough we have to listen or we fall and whilst I could cast out many examples of when this has happened in the past whether it is the Maya, The Easter Islanders, The Ancient Egyptians or many other civilizations. Like Indigenous peoples’, we do not have the natural defenses the natural immunity to counteract nature itself when nature throws out these fires as an expression that nature itself has had enough of us and our frenetic, misguided development regime against the fragile balance of nature. Nature we have got to align too, this is not negotiable matter, if this is not at the top of the agenda today, tomorrow it will be all that’s on the agenda.
We have the chance to evolve now, however this does require The government of Australia to not just declare a state of national emergency, but to act upon this on every level possible. The window of which to change for Australia is as slim as it gets.
Beyond the worst case scenario to the better case scenarios.
In extreme temperatures and in severe living conditions there is no fooling nature. Natures laws are a part of life that give or take life. Whilst we can harness nature, use it to survive and thrive when it goes wrong individually we have to work within the confines of nature. Whilst politicians are used to taking a line, presenting paradigms and ideas in this way, eloquently debating their perspective. Answering the question in this way but not that. Nature and Outback life is the diametrical opposite to that. You cannot negotiate with nature.
I knew a man in his mid sixties that was building a house in the desert. He had a young twenty five year old Dutchman working with him and he tried to compete and keep up with him. He was working flat out in temperatures up into the mid thirties, early forties. He was lying to himself, his Dutch employee and to nature about what was possible for him.
The illusion he presented failed, when had fell down, suffered a heart attack and died. There are no illusions, it is how it is and our perceptions of nature when interacting with it are limited. They are very much a learning curve. The lessons we know today are to slow down our societies, think twice and act once, find an easy way or search out a less easy way to bring our activities into alignment not with our past illusions, but with the nature of reality. If we fail to do that then we ourselves in our boardrooms of self importance surrounded by nodding donkey yes people, sharing the delusion of the conquest over nature will increasingly look out the window to find that nature itslef has very different ideas.
So in the case of Australia, the resourcefulness, the old wisdom connection, the close to nature spiritual connection, yet the approach of Paul Hogan, playing Mick Dundee in Crocodile Dundee was seen as a parody at the time, however there were many strands of truth interwoven and captured very well by the writers and actors. Then there is the dystopian depiction captured in the Mad Max series. The civilization that had collapsed from a post industrial world where innovation and banding together was the only way to survive the challenges presented of the time. We have the Midnight Oil song. How do we sleep when our beds are burning?
The films depicting a world which was reliant upon innovation due to the scarcity of resources. There is the need for a strong element of innovation when living in an outback type situation. Going and buying off the shelf items sometimes is not a possibility and so routinely you have to think for your self in terms of developing ways around issues and around the issues that nature brings. . You have to consciously think of how to achieve a goal when the first few ways may not see obvious.
Understanding a fire in a hearth and how we control fire for heating.
In a house we usually start a fire by working up from materials such as paper to twigs and then larger twigs onto logs. Once the fire is going when the logs are put close together they build heat off of each other. By separating the logs we reduce the heat of the fire. In simple terms fire builds upon fire. This is so all the time their is more fuel and Oxygen to burn. If we want to reduce the fire, we could pour water on and then the fire would temporarily die down. If we keep pouring water on the fire will go out. However, if we pour some water on then go away come back and then pour some more on the fire inbetween has had time to recover and so if there is not enough of a quantity of water fast enough then the fire fully returns. When firefighters are dropping water from the air, it is very similar and with the fact that it is much more challenging an dangerous to drop water at night, usually not done. Frequently air fire crews are dependant upon day light hours. Yet, when they return the next day due to winds during the night, changing directions, fire recovery or in the case of the fires in Australia being just so massive that they are producing their own weather systems, complete with some rain, and lightening that is then starting more fires. Unless there is a real density of planes dropping water or powder from the air the approach of dropping water is proving in many cases to be too little, too slow too late. So with the consideration that in a hearth in the house there are really three ways to reduce the fire one being water, another being to separate the fuel and then less water can be used effectively, the third way is to smother the fire and thus remove oxygen. Whilst currently the methods that are used for fire fighting are focused primarily on the water drop method combined with fire engines on the ground, combined with volunteers.
The additional methods that I propose are more linked to actually seeking to extract and separate the fuel of the fire. It is also more about smothering the fire on the ground with rollers, some to flatten and some to transport. My method is more about using equipment that can control the heat, the smoke the wind. Extended fuel extraction methods and nimble ambulances to rush in to rescue people and animals. The interaction is built first and foremost upon safety procedures and methods so that the fire crews safety always comes first. There are escape routes first fir people, secondly for vehicles and equipment and thirdly if it’s not feasible to get equipment out, then the vehicles are low cost enough, that they can be left if necessary, so whilst capacity in fighting the fires is raised to the maximum, using all elements Water, Earth, Fire and Air simultaneously. The fire crews interact with the fires using the extended equipment and yet do so with an exit and retreat strategy as the primary tactic in mind. It is feasible that with this new methodology is trialed, tested and used that the process of this innovation will lead to the innovation of unmanned fire fighting equipment that is low cost being used in conjunction with this. However the starting point is very fast and easy from where technology is today. Overall, everything my work offers is in conjunction with and complimentary to all the existing strategies being presently applied in Australia, USA, Canada, Russia, Europe. What’s being done may have been enough in the past, yet it certainly is not enough today. We have to focus once again, the second time in our evolution on how to master fire again and bring these fires back under our control. There is one other crucial principle that can be observed from a hearth fire. If you have too much fuel, the fire goes out. That in a principle considered within this strategy too. By bringing the fuel, as much as possible onto the fire, one uses what fuels the fire to help put the fire out.
Fire creating weather systems that create more fire.
It has been reported in the press that the fires are creating their own weather systems. What is happening is they are causing condensation to rise up and then that condensation is creating cloud and then thunder and lightening. This lightening is causing new storms. So what is actually happening is that there is a perpetual feedback loop that is adding to and creating the fires, caused by the fires themselves. In the terms that i use in my work, there is “An Integrated Strategy” at work, Climate change and within that in a localised area another “Integrated Strategy” is being created. So in actual fact. There is an “integrated strategy” within an “Integrated Strategy”. This can only be counteracted by a counter “Integrated Strategy” on an immediate and an International basis.
The initial response was not good, however the gravity of the situation is now much more clear, every day this progresses, so being in denial is simply not an option.
Canberra, the capitol city is on fire, various cities that are considered the most important cities in the country are obtaining the effects of either smoke or have fires in or close to the suburbs.
The response of a government that was voted in on the basis of their not being a climate emergency. Australia however today, really requires climate, Mitigation, Adaptation and Innovation to be a priority on any agenda, simply to reverse what’s occurring currently. With Australia’s bee population in drastic decline due to the fires and this ruining farming it’s abundantly clear that the only way to create economic balance is to bring back ecological balance first. Therefore in the name of ecology and even in the name of economy the environment has got to come first.
There are now proposals that there will be changes where homes are built, planned burning and adaption measures to fires, floods and cyclones. However, emissions have gone up. There are arguments that there will loss of employment due to emissions reductions which is only true if this full strategy was not fully used in it’s entirity. With this there can be a vast increase in green jobs, so many more than the fossil fuel dependent economy can produce. Why? One hundred new jobs in fossil fuels will add to the loss of one hundred old jobs in farming due to the collapse of bees. Whilst this model protects the farmers and provides many new green jobs, in everything from fire fighting to eco-tourism. . The adaption to cites, towns villages and communities requires new skills and creates new employment. This document and my work fully applied provides the most effective boost of person to person communication since the dot com boom. Improving communication improves opportunities, it links green innovation to investment and therefore it creates employment. Improved communication creates employment much more than fosil fuel investment ever can. Improved communication increases employment full stop. It has before in the dot com boom and can do so again. Last time there was a vast increase in connecting people via computers, this work connects people in their neighborhoods. In times where the older people’s first consideration is keeping their houses protected and safe there is a vast potential for creating employment. So therefore, any assertion that the only way to create and improve the economy in Australia is by looking to fossil fuels is actually when properly considered is a fallacy. Ten times more jobs are created by embracing fully the only paradigm that keeps people, communities and planet safe.
An Australia dependent upon industries that are simultaneously causing the loss of industries is not making good ecological sense or business sense either.. An Australia that is seeking to boost the economy by taking away the economy in the most important cities in the country is like seeking to build a castle on sand. It is laughing at the flood waters as they descend from the sky. It is laughing at the power of nature and its overwhelming capacity to overwhelm us. The decisions made today in Australia shape the future of Australia and could shape the future of the world for the better. Our world cannot cope with out of control fires in any part of it. We have got to once again master fire for the sake of our happy evolution.
There are many new ecological industries that can evolve and jobs can be transferred onto those. There are major income generating boosts to help with tourism recovery, however is there a way to solve the fires and provide the means to assist the country afterwards with eco-tourism? Speaking recently with tourists that were in Australia, they said they could not leave fast enough, their holidays were overshadowed by the fires and sometimes they could not see more than thirty metres in cities.
. Whilst tourists can currently move on, local Australians cannot. In addition, tourists are climate aware too and if they are seeing firstly the consequences of climate change and the immediate danger this poses to all human health. Then they are seeing an approach taken by the government in denial of the whole issue. They are seeing a country in denial. The Australian tourism industry has been very much adventure seeking, activity tourism and in many ways activity tourism led. They are for the most part very environmentally conscientious tourists, more so than in other countries and will not be fooled. Australia in the 90’s was very progressive in terms of the environment and so this current crisis can and should be turned into an advantage.
What is in alignment however would be to firstly say no to the new massive mine project being planned. 2. Transfer onto renewable energy. 3. Transfer jobs into Environmental industries these including Industries that also assist in the prevention and addressing of all climate related resilience issues starting with the fires, cyclones, floods.. Create eco-tourism initiatives that can help the country and the people recover in Australia, yet also look to ways that other countries in the region can also figure into the plan so that Australia benefits and they benefit too. It is worth noting here that the islands of Java and Sumatra in the past twenty years have seen approximately 2/3 of the rainforest that was there in 199, not there today. Has that had an effect of Australian weather systems? Of course. Take away forest and you take away the rain. Take away the rain and you get dry land and therefore fires. So therefore, over and above everything that is written in this document. It can be said the best way to stop Australia’s out of control fires is to save and replant the rainforest in Indonesia. Malaysia has much palm oil and palm sugar production taking up much land, this again is land that could become more rainforest again if the economic incentive for Malaysia is there. The plastic that has just been sent back to Europe could potentially be a resource that works in at least three ways to help Australia solve it’s fire issues, however this all requires more inter government cooperation from a green perspective.
Huge opportunities are getting wasted to help put these fires out as the conversation at the moment is not from a solution orientated perspective. What get’s the conversation onto that solution orientated perspective is admitting that this is climate change and then putting measures into place so that opportunities such as the plastic being sent back to Europe, rather than being upcycled into fire extinguishing equipment? Why? The thinking is on national considerations first and foremost and the thinking of how this can be applied in another way to help a regional partner country is not being considered fast or efficiently enough. The dots need to be linked with reality. It is not an exaggeration to say that when Malaysia said we do not want the UK’s plastic, if environmental thinking was where it should be either the UK could have suggested that this could be used for green innovation through 3 D printing for helping Australia, or for helping Indonesia with tree protectors for replanting rainforest or Australia for desert regeneration water technologies to be able to re-plant forests away from human habitations. The issue is not the fact that we do not have all these answers and so many more, we are just not valuing and using our thinking enough in terms of experimentation of what is and what could be possible. There is room for improvement in how we look at problems and seek out ways to convert them into improved answers that help many countries. If an idea works in one place, adapted then it can work in others. The fact of the matter is currently we are not very, very good at dealing with any extreme weather situation, we can get better. The insight of how to do this exist in the world today or can do soon. Whilst the ecoplaza can assist the process, it’s also more a case of harnessing the creative power of crowds, the people that work is councils, the pub wisdom, the ideas of children, elderly people, the fleeting ideas people have when doing the laundry. This is all creative capacity for humanity and this can and should be valued, used and harnessed. In countries and in the world there are issues that are not getting solved fast enough, therefore we can and do need to be more creative and by doing so we allow for good and not so goo ideas to be considered, discussed and debated. Invariably what I have found is that an idea that may seem eccentric to begin with invariably becomes the norm a few years on. Therefore, the openness to be able to explore, consider and dream in the land lof dreamtime is the basis for creating the most intelligent response possible to these fires.
The only way to solve Australia’s fires is to 1. Mitigate Emissions. 2. Adapt. 3. Innovate. All three are as important as each other this is due to the fact that in order to mitigate innovation is required to change industries. If you say mitigate alone that is a reductionist answer that is unworkable for governments to be able to implement without innovation means being very clear and evident. That innovation though can be 1. Renewable Energy. 2. New Green Industries that help communities deal with natural disasters. 3. New resource use models that combine knowledge on latent resources and skills. 4. Economic innovation, whereby companies contribute towards helping, funding, subsidizing the innovation required to reduce emissions, to produce improved ways to green the country and fight fires simultaneously. Again to re-emphasis mitigation is first and foremost and yet the other aspects of both adaption and innovation enable that mitigation to take place. There does not need to be a reduction in jobs, on the contrary it is much more likely that there will be more jobs created by taking the mitigation, adaption and innovation method as this document proves. The jobs produced from all the innovations mentioned here would be many more than I believe would be created through fossil fuels. You cannot build a skyscraper by taking away the foundations and seeking to add this onto the top of the building. Similarly, yet cannot change the symptoms and result of a failing eco-systems by keep depleting eco-systems. There has to be renewal and regeneration. This works as much in science and ecology as it does in business. The Earth is the complete supply chain to every product in the world. If suppliers and not valued and appreciated enough then the supply ceases. The best way to ruin businesses is to have a business as usual approach. It is not business as usual anymore, the moment that businesses cannot function due to the fact that there are uncontrollable fire alarms going off due to massive fires within a few miles of the city, it’s time to think in terms of this being an emergency. We have to change our ways, we have been saying this for decades, there are ways this is possible today, the methods though really have to be taken seriously and applied. What’s happening in Australia today calls for 2020 vision. A new way to see this whole situation and looking at everything from this new perspective and working back from the goal to today produces so many avenues of new opportunity.
We have the power to control fire.
We have a natural propensity to fear fire and conversely know we have the power to control fire. Whats’s the difference in th ecomplete change in perception? Scale. We have never neded to think in terms of the scale of the fires today. By spreading the logs on a fire, by controlling air, by adding water, by adding dry material we affect and control the fire inside a hearth. It is feasible within this plan, using the tactics defined that we can scale up that level of control on larger fires. On the largest and most complicated of the fires in Australia? Perhaps not initially, yet the vast majority of them there are improved ways feasible that I outline. However, before I explain the most easy to set up and utilize methods defined here, firstly I want to cover some ideas that are unrealistic with where we are today. The reason that I cover and include these and put them first is to help explain that we get to the best and optimal ideas frequently through a path of being open enough to explore and consider the unrealistic ideas. The Disney Corporation, one of the most creative companies use a method of looking at each concept, each new idea from three perspectives with everyone included. Firstly the dreamer, secondly the critic and thirdly the realist. To find a way through. I hope that this document and the process in which this work is considered is similar. The truth is we people, us humans with our incredible technologies that can take us to the stars, well almost at least to the moon anyway. Us humans in our ever more connected, technologically advanced societies are failing collectively to make the basics on this planet work in the way in which the basics have always worked for civilization in the past. Therefore, it is less easy for us than it was for our predecessors, the generations that have gone before. However, like them in their time we should not run from the responsibilities we have today. No we should get organized and meet these issues and provide the answers that help ourselves and help others find a smooth path forward. We either get there together or none of us get there at all. Where? To the future, worthy of the future the people and the world really deserves.
