In'Sure' Assurance

Quality assurance is not just defect management or test management, trust me its much beyond that.Quality is a brand in itself, conveying this to your customers is definitely not a day's job. It is a continuous effort with an eagles eye for steady improvement .

Few organisations just take the ratio of count of bug reported to the bugs resolved to the bugs which got reopened and and that's what they call it as quality assurance, *sigh* they are just behind the time.

QA is nailing bug at its source,to clinch the process built is tightly coupled.

When there's an issue the first question that should pop up- WHY this issue came up?

> Missing requirement?

> Misunderstanding?

> Misguided?

> Requirement complexity?

> Working in silo?

> Poor design/framework?

> Technical limitation?

and the list can go on......

There can be no one reason for any failure its always combination of facts with varying intensity .You should be able to gauge what fits your organisation better. As part if quality assurance you need to have a strong visualisation to get to the root cause of the problem.

We have a race against time with new technologies getting launched each day. New ideas flow by, New products out in market,New tips and tricks and we cannot afford to run an old blunt saw with fingers crossed for a flawless cut.

Gone were those times where auspicious days were chosen to ace the race. Now is the time where decisions are made on fly,to join the front runners. That typically means quality assurance will not get a second chance. It just have to be right thing on right time.

Quality assurance is a collective process, a responsibility of every individual involved in the project. If your quality is not quantifiable then its cake not worth the candle.

The three main dimensions of any product development would be

Each of these come with multiple options & alternatives,It’ll be all right on the night when you have got the right combination set.
