Motor insurance isn’t what it used to be. Today’s car buyers expect embedded coverage that’s convenient, personalized and ready when they are – which is a big step up from traditional affinity programs.

And for automotive OEMs, the journey to an embedded program can be a bumpy road, whether it’s having the right tech, navigating the insurance ecosystem or making the customer experience truly effortless.

That’s why Qover created a comprehensive white paper that’s packed with practical advice on how to build an omnichannel embedded insurance strategy that works – complete with real-world use cases and insider advice from across the industry.

1?? A VC perspective on AI opportunities in InsurTech

The first article is an essay Amir Kabir put together on AI opportunities in the insurance & InsurTech spaces. He shared his VC perspective on recent updates with AI technologies, where he sees major room for adding value in the insurance value chain and lists initiatives already in place both on the incumbents and startups sides of the market.

My takeaway: Based on our own market watch in the European InsurTech ecosystem, I'd say that claim is probably where use-cases are the most advanced, while we currently see initiatives kicking off around distribution & customer relationship. Pricing is still in its early days - with limited number of players - while we expect a lot to happen around (emerging) risks !

2?? The state of FinTech in Europe

The second article is a report Finch Capital released a few weeks ago on the state of the FinTech ecosystem in Europe. It provides an overview of where innovation stands in Financial Services (with a strong focus on m&a), deep dives in major local markets and explores what might happen next.

My takeaway: Having 'insurance' as No.1 in trends to watch next (on slide 26) makes perfect sense to me as InsurTech is lagging ~4 years behind FinTech, and there are plenty of opportunities still to explore in the value chain (after a 1st wave of startups mainly focused on distribution)

3?? Is Agentic AI the new RPA?

The third article was published on VentureBeat a few days ago, following Anthropic's product updates. It details how it enables company automate complex workflows by revamping human/computer interactions, moving from text to screen interactions.

My takeaway: With Agentic AI becoming the major trend in generative AI, it seems to me that automation could clearly benefit from these technologies. In that background, I'm increasingly seeing these solutions as an upgraded version of RPA. Which raises a question on whether incumbents will replace their existing RPA solutions or RPA providers will manage to upgrade their offers with Generative AI features.
