“ You are a great salesperson”..... I stopped walking and the hair on the back of my neck stood up and I spun around. I know he did not just say what I think he said. My business partner did not just insult me. If he would have said I sucked at sales I would have smiled and said thank you. But to say I was a great sales…. I can’t even ……I think the C word would have been less offensive.


You see I am a client advocate. Do I have products and services you can buy? Sure. The difference between myself and a “salesperson” is that I wont just sell you anything to just make a sale. I am every sales manager’s worst nightmare. Get this - I’m honest. If a product isn't right for someone - I tell them. If something other than what we offer is better - I tell them that too.?I truly look at what I do as a service. I want my clients to benefit from whatever I give them, be it product or service. If they won’t, then I don’t give it to them.??


Years ago when I was selling promo products , we had a situation where one of my vendors screwed up a tote bag. They reprinted them but there was no way they would arrive on time fo the festival they were for the next day or so it would seem. I spent the entire night driving about 4 hours each way to go get the bags. I delivered them at 6AM?the next AM - in time for the festival. So NO - I am NOT a salesperson. I am an advocate to help my clients succeed- even if it means no sleep for me.
