Insulmould? mouldable; a ‘wannahave’, ready-to-use, refractory repair product.

Renewing, maintaining and repairing the refractory lining in industrial furnaces is crucial for ensuring their efficiency, life-time and save operation. Rapid temperature changes can cause cracking or spalling, which can cause heat loss and/or premature failure.

For these type of general refractory repairs, the Insulcon Group developed a complete series of Insulmould? mouldables. Several qualities containing referctory ceramic fibres, low biopersistant fibres or polykristaline fibres are developed and manufactured in our own production facility.

Structural integrity up to 1600°C - See it, use it, believe it!

Insulmould? mouldables ensure the structural integrity and operational efficiency of your furnace lining and are applicable up to 1600°C. With their thermal performance and adaptability to all possible applications, they are indispensable assets in maintaining optimal furnace performance.

Hard and erosion-resistant surface

Insulmould? refractory repair

Insulmould? mouldables are developed using ?high-performance refractory fibres combined with carefully chosen inorganic and/or organic binders. With a putty-like consistency, they offer versatility in application methods such as caulking, trowelling, or hand forming. Depending on the specific needs, they are available in both low viscosity for injection and high viscosity for trowelling and patching. They stick well to most surfaces and drying is accomplished at a noncritical, elevated temperature. The result is in a strong, hard and erosion-resistant surface.

Versatility

From steel foundries to glass manufacturing plants, industrial furnaces come in all shapes and sizes, each with its own set of challenges. Our Insulmould? mouldables offer versatility, to a wide range of applications and temperatures. Whether it is a blast furnace operating at 1100°C or an annealing furnace at 600°C, we always have an Insulmould? mouldable suited for the task.

Applications of Insulmould? mouldables

A few examples of typical applications are:

  • Expansion joint filling
  • Hot and cold patching of cracks in refractory lining
  • Filling cup locks or Expanchors?
  • Patching around burner blocks, collector bar sealing (significantly reducing oxidation of the cathode)
  • Moulding of small components
  • Airtight sealing of gaps between chimney/flue elements
