Background

An electromagnetic switch is a device that uses electromagnetic force to control the on and off of a circuit. It combines the functions of an electromagnet and a switch. It controls the switch contacts by energizing and de-energizing the electromagnet coil, thereby connecting or disconnecting the circuit. In the disconnected state, both ends of the switch should be completely insulated.


Insulation resistance testing is an important means of evaluating the insulation performance of electrical equipment. In the absence of magnetic field interference, it can accurately reflect the insulation status of the magnetic switch, ensuring that no electrical accidents will be caused by poor insulation during use, thereby ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.

Customer situation

A manufacturer engaged in electrical machinery needs to test the resistance value of the insulation structure of the electromagnetic switch when it is in the disconnected state without external magnetic field interference, in order to evaluate its insulation performance.

Testing requirements

Under the condition of 100VDC, the insulation value of the electromagnetic switch is tested, and the insulation value of the device is above 10GΩ.

1. Get the test value in a short time;

2. The test accuracy should be high, with sorting function;

3. The upper limit should be above 1015.

Tonghui recommends using the STB6690H high resistance meter + STB66076B insulation resistance test box to test the insulation upper limit.


The STB6690H high resistance meter has a measurement resolution of 6? digits and a built-in ±1000V voltage source that supports measuring resistances up to 1000PΩ (1018Ω). When used with the STB66076B insulation resistance test box, more stable and accurate test results can be obtained in a shielded state, making it suitable for R&D to verify the upper limit of product insulation.

The insulation resistance test range of STB6683B is 100kΩ – 5TΩ. The test voltage range is 1 – 500V, which is suitable for judging the lower limit on the production line.
