Institutions Innovation Council: Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship
As part of our ongoing efforts to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, Pavithra Vijaykumar Mam and I Shakthivel M R , coordinators of the SNS College of Engineering (SNSCE) Institution Innovation Council (IIC), recently visited Kathir College of Engineering. This visit was part of our mentorship role, where we guide IIC faculty coordinators from mentee institutions to help them effectively implement and manage innovation activities.
The Institutions Innovation Council, an initiative by the Ministry of Education, aims to create a vibrant innovation ecosystem within academic institutions. At SNSCE, we are deeply committed to this mission, and our visit to Kathir College was focused on enhancing their capacity to conduct impactful innovation-related activities.

During our visit, we conducted a comprehensive session on planning and executing quarterly events. These events are crucial for maintaining momentum and engagement within the IIC, ensuring that innovation and entrepreneurship remain at the forefront of student activities. We discussed best practices for organizing workshops, seminars, and hackathons that align with the goals of IIC, and how these events can be tailored to meet the specific needs of their institution.
A significant part of our guidance was centered around the Yukthi Innovation Challenge. This challenge is designed to inspire students to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. We emphasized the importance of fostering startup awareness among students, as this is a critical aspect of the challenge. By understanding the startup ecosystem and the journey from idea to execution, students can better prepare for entrepreneurial endeavors.
Our visit was not just about sharing knowledge but also about building a collaborative relationship with Kathir College of Engineering. We are excited to see how they will implement the strategies discussed and look forward to their progress in nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship on their campus. Together, we are building a stronger, more innovative future for our students and institutions.
