Instinct or Facts ?

When the gut feel is stronger than data, it means that your intuition or instincts are telling you something different from what the data suggests. In such a situation, you may feel inclined to follow your gut, even if it goes against the data.
The outcome of following your intuition over data can vary. Sometimes, it may lead you to make a good decision that you would not have made if you had relied solely on the data. This can happen if your intuition is based on years of experience or if it takes into account other factors that the data does not capture.
However, other times, your gut feel may be influenced by biases or emotions, leading you to make a suboptimal decision. In these cases, relying on the data and using a more objective approach may lead to a better outcome.
Ultimately, the decision of whether to follow your gut or the data will depend on the specific situation and your personal judgement.
How do you usually make difficult decisions?

In my experience, your gut is right 90% of the time. Often something has happened to the data that people didn’t pick up. Always look at the raw data and figure it out. People assume automation somehow equals cleaner data. This leads to a ton of bad analyses. I have spent many hours explaining why automated processes failed.
