Instead of Focusing on the Perks, Let's Talk "Real"

?? Am I honest enough...are ping pong tables and free massages the total solutions for having a super working environment? Or is it a more humanizing matter, instead?????

I love eating snacks, too. However, it is insufficient only to keep a cookie jar well-stocked for days or to furnish the coffee machine with the latest modifications. The culture of the company will not be magically transformed. That's surface stuff.????

?? True belonging rises from the roots of mutually trusting relationships established through the meaningful and open exchange of ideas. Leaders, let us be the ones to make it happen!

Let's reserve space for private conversations to let somebody share the story of his life without worrying that he is being supervised.

?? Picture yourself in a room without the struggle of trying to read between the lines of the different people’s emotionally charged minds.

A study conducted at Queens University determined that staff members would be 8.5 times more effectively engaged if granted a spot to speak frankly. That makes sense, right??

It seems like a real drag to be committed to a company's mission when workdays become the same headphones and routine lunch with no interaction at all and annual or bi-annual surveys, which appear to be even less trustworthy. We are turned into lifeless robots, mechanically smiling and acting as if everything is perfect. Exhausting!????

It's time to change the story. As leaders, we should listen first. Look for different views without judgment. Make a place where words turn into actions. That's the culture we aim to make.

From your experience, what do you think? Have you been able to be yourself at work? I want to hear your stories and keep talking about this.

Don't be shy - share your real thoughts! Leave a comment, and let's keep talking.????

Honey, well said! Organisations need to move beyond actions that merely tick the employee-care boxes: periodic surveys that don’t always lead to follow-up actions,F&B facilities et al. While these are good-to-have, what is needed is: a safe-space, 360deg feedback, addressing unconscious biases and tacking the conscious ones.
