Last week I had the pleasure of facilitating a 2-day senior regional leadership offsite for a very large bank here in Hong Kong.
The recurring theme I heard, as I was interviewing senior leadership to design the running of the offsite, was this sense of run run run run, without time to stop and pause – without time to stop and pause and connect with what is important – without time to stop and pause to connect with what has been to reflect and learn as a stepping stone to create a sense of purpose for what is to be – without time to stop and pause to create a vivid picture of what one wants to create in one’s life's next chapter.
Even though I cognitively know about attention deficit trait, about the unsustainable pace our world is moving into, it stills shocks me when I continue to hear it over and over again from so many leaders I meet in companies throughout Asia. From the same people I would not have heard it from only 3 years ago.
This is why I invite all of you in my Hong Kong network to the Instant Pause I will be hosting on the 3rd of June from 10 to 5 pm, a 1 day stop for super busy people to connect with what is important for you, regain clarity and momentum for the next steps in your life. Write to me if you are interested in knowing more and giving yourself a 1 day powerful Pause.
This is what past participants have said about this Instant Pause……
“Instant Pauses are not a luxury, they're essential. They are especially valuable for people in a helping profession like myself, but nearly everyone living a full and busy life will benefit from the experience” Henry, Executive Coach
“highly recommend this --or any sessions that Mary Ann does actually--if you want to teach yourself how to get out of your own way and start climbing that next mountain. pause, reflect, envision and then just go for it! awesome---simply awesome” Mary, Business Development Director
“Taking time out to deeply reflect and most powerfully share your challenges and achievements and then building on this growth for the future is incredibly powerful” Sian, HR Director
“It was so valuable to spend a day thinking about myself and my life - reflecting on how I got to where I am and where I want to go next. To come away with two words which encapsulate both journeys really helped me to share with my partner so that he can relate and participate in the change with me” Ingrid, in-between jobs
