The Instant Gratification Trap: Why Your Sabotaging Your Success

The Instant Gratification Trap: Why Your Sabotaging Your Success

Here’s the truth: Instant gratification is for amateurs.

The higher your attachment to the immediate, the more energy you lose toward the outcome.

Attachment leads to emotion.

You post and don’t get likes, you feel disappointed.

You email and don’t get a response, you feel anxious.

You have a call and don’t make a sale, you doubt yourself.

You do something, but you don’t get something - you react and feel something.

How you feel is not linked to fact.

Outcomes are not always instant.

They are the sum of many parts.

It’s reactions (feelings) vs repetitions (actions).

You’re doing the reps, but you’re not seeing the results (yet).

Feelings are colours.

Facts are lines.

Your future is not created through emotions; it’s coloured by them.

Your reality is made visible, carved out with the lines of your actions.

Emotion isn’t a measure of progress.

It’s a byproduct of expectation.

Change the expectation, change the emotion.

You can’t change your future with emotions.

But you can channel emotions to change your future.

Use emotions as fuel.

Use actions as the vehicle.

Frustration can become innovation.

Doubt can become determination.

Anxiety can become creativity.

Fear can become resilience.

Learning to overcome the emotion from instant gratification with consistent action leads to long-term satisfaction.

You are not your emotions.

You are your actions.

But your reality is the quality of both.

Cheers,

-Rana

Our generation tends to struggle with this, Rana Saini. Seeking instant gratification is easy, but it's hardly ever rewarding.
