Installing windows without a cavity
Current systems of installing windows when the external cavity is not in place create problems. They usilise metal straps which fix from the window to the wall-thereby creating a thermal bridge! the entire area is then covered with EPDM or similar and eventually all gets covered up when the external walling comes along
Using our WINFRAMER Type 1 overcomes these bridges. You simple use the adhesive to fix it to the wall, bolt through and that leave you a structural, air-tight and super efficient cavity closer (1 hour fire rating pending)
You can then screw the window directly into the Winframer-if you then use our Bloco One sealing tape around the frames, you have a Passivhaus certified installation.
As you see in the above picture, a Metsec frame covered with particle board situation was in place and Winframer used to install the windows.-This leaves the inside services able to continue their work, without the external cladding in place
