Installing JIB Cranes
Advanced Solutions, Inc needed 5 cranes installed without interruption to his production. Obviously, each crane needed to be next to the mills and lathes it would be loading the parts into. Installing these bad boys involved fork lifts and delicate yet forceful handling. Dropping the boom or the mast could have caused serious damage to these machines. With a lot of skill and finesse, we were able to install them without stopping production for a single minute.
The key to installing these babies as it is with any construction project, is FOUNDATION!
I've seen some shops that simply anchor bolt these into their existing pavement. Your average foundation is only 4"-6" thick. It's better to be safe than sorry!
I cut out their existing foundation, dug into sub base, created a base plate with all thread (in lieu of anchor bolts), and reinforced with rebar.
The end result is solid, secure cranes ready to do their job and never having to worry about tilts or repairs. I couldn't upload all the photos because I'm not as good at creating articles on LinkedIn as I am at installing Jib Cranes.
