Mounting Forms for Electronic Components
For different types of components, their shapes and lead arrangements are different, and so are their mounting forms. The following are some common installation forms.
1、Single board type mounting form
Installation is to install the components in close proximity to the surface of the printed circuit board, the gap between the components and the printed circuit board is about 1 mm. Single-board mounting leads are short, stable and simple to install. However, it is not conducive to heat dissipation and is not suitable for mounting high heat generating components. Double-sided soldered circuit boards have wires on both sides . If the component is metal casing, there are printed lead wires under the component. To avoid short-circuiting, the component housing should be filled with insulating pads or sleeved insulating sleeves.
2. Suspended mounting
Heating elements and heat-resistant elements are usually mounted in suspension. Hanging installation is the component shell installed at a certain distance from the PCB surface, the installation gap is about 3-8mm. in order to maintain the consistency of the height of the component, can be inserted in the lead on the sleeve.
3. Vertical mounting form

Vertical mounting can be used for some high-density PCB mounting area. Vertical mounting is the use of axial bi-directional leads to install the component shell vertically. Components with large mass and thin leads are not suitable for this form. In vertical mounting, for short lead pin soldering, a lot of heat is transferred. To avoid high temperature damage to the component, shims can be used to stop the heat transfer.
4. Embedded mounting form
Embedded mounting is to bury part of the component shell into the embedded holes of the printed circuit board. Some components that require seismic protection can use this method to enhance the seismic resistance of the components and reduce the installation height.
5, fixed bracket
The fixed bracket is installed in the form of a fixed bracket, used to fix the components on the printed circuit board. Some small relays, transformers, choke coils and other heavy-duty components are installed in this way to enhance the firmness of the components on the circuit board.
