I never imagined that there would be a free LLM that could run locally on my device and be nearly as good as ChatGPT. With the Oxford-trained Alpaca, it's now possible, and it's amazing! I'm having a lot of fun with it.
This is the simplest method to install Alpaca Model .
You don't need a powerful computer to do this ,but will get faster response if you have a powerful device .?
Unfortunately, this model is only available for research purposes and cannot be used commercially. In my opinion, since the "genie is already out of the bottle", I think Facebook should make it fully open-source and available for wider use.
If you follow the steps, you can install your own ChatGPT locally using alpaca model and have it answer your questions.

1.?Install Node.js on your device (you need version greater than 18).
2.?Open a command prompt.
3.?Type `npx dalai alpaca install 7B`.
4.?Then type `npx dalai serve`.
5.?Go to your browser and type `https://localhost:3000`.
If you encounter any error just go to ChatGPT ,paste your error and do what AI overlord is tells you to do .?
The awesome thing is that you can fine-tune this model with your own data, making it highly customizable. The future is awesome! .A Twitter user, @BrianRoemmele, was able to fine-tune the model further and reported superior results.
A better model may be released soon, but for now, this is just awesome! It's so much fun to play around with.

But the humour switched to curiosity when I did indeed encounter an error... And curiosity was replaced with bewildering terror as my AI overlord guided me through the process to ready my environment properly. And I'm just inviting an AI to live locally; some some teenager in a basement drawing runes on the floor and chanting from an ancient book I just found at the back of the library. Welp.
