Will Instagram Stop Being Like Tiktok?

It’s no secret that Instagram has been changing recently. Sometimes for the better, and in some people’s opinions, sometimes not.
One of the more recent controversial topics surrounding the social media giant is that followers are asking for Instagram to STOP being so much like Tiktok. So much so in fact, that there is actually a petition going around begging Instagram to go back to being…well…Instagram!
WHAT DO PEOPLE WANT?
The main complaints from the Instagram community are that the app has lost its original appeal, which was to share original content and photos! People liked the simplicity of scrolling through their close-knit community of friends and their photos to see what they were up to. The platform was simple, and it was easy to know exactly what you were going to get when you opened it up.
These days, having your feed feature all sorts of videos from people you don’t know can actually be a bit annoying. Yes, this has been successful for Tiktok, but that’s what Tiktok was built on, and was the app’s original intention. So, why are they trying to blend the two?
That’s exactly what people are asking! The petition I mentioned above is essentially asking for the following:

DON’T GET ME WRONG THOUGH…REELS ARE STILL THE WAY TO GO
I don’t want to confuse you. Yes, the community is getting a bit frustrated by all the featured reels and videos, but that doesn’t mean you should stop making them. Short-form video is here to stay. And while this is still the main feature of Instagram, you should still continue advertising in this way.
