Instagram is adding DMs to the Desktop - could they add more?

It's going to be easier to slide in to the DMs on Instagram. The company announced that they are bringing this long-awaited feature to the desktop/web version. It makes wonder what too IG so long to make this happen. Currently, the feature is just in a small limited test.

You think IG would have added this when they took away third party access to DMs. I used to use Hootsuite for all my IG management. Now you must go through the app to do just about everything. You may be saying that the direct messages can be in the Facebook page in box, but this feature has always been wonky.

I have long wondered why other features haven't been added to the desktop app. Other features I would love to see, especially for business accounts are: Posting from the desktop, native scheduling of posts, and better analytics.

I hope we keep seeing more trends like this from IG.
