Inspiring Toronto Students to Animate

Toronto loves film and so do we. For us our focus is Visual Effects and Animation and our passion runs deep. Switch VFX & Animation's guiding principles include a devotion to education so when the City of Toronto, in collaboration with our local screen industry established xoTO Schools, a pilot program with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) we knew a partnership was inevitable.

xoTO Schools creates interactive educational opportunities for students in a variety of areas of the film industry that include co-op placements and workshops. Switch Animation CEO/EP Pete Denomme saw this as an excellent opportunity for his partners at The Animation Lounge. As host and main sponsor of the Animation Lounge, Pete and it's founder Sonya Carey can provide access to industry professionals for a speaker series and unprecedented introductory training via Harmony workshops with the support of Toon Boom.

The first workshop of 2022 will take place March 23rd and the class is full suggesting there is great interest in the animation field from the students.
