An Inspiring Story

I am inspired by his story.  His name is Eberechi Eze. He was brought on to the pitch 80th minutes of Crystal Palace - Southampton game and he soon impressed many of us with his amazing skill. Eze is only 22 so he might have a great career at premier league or he can disappear like some other talents but his story always will be the one to remember. At one period in his life, Eze came to a point where he thought of giving up on his football career and applied to work for Tesco as a casheer. So how did this happen? He was born in Greenwich to Nigerian parents. He says “there is nice parts of Greenwich and not so nice parts”!!! Let’s just say it wasn’t an easy life for a kid. So he dedicated him self to the only thing he loved...That was football. He started his career  with Arsenal.Unfortunately things didn’t go well and he learned a painful lesson. This was his first fail and  he felt rejected very first time in his life at the tender age of 13. A Few other fails followed with teams like Fulham, Sunderland, Bristol and Swensea! Things were not happening how he had planned.In 2016 , he was released by Milwall. He says “this was the worst period of my life. “ He cried weeks and weeks because he had to make a decision. Either he was going to give one last try or he would have to spend his life doing something he didn’t enjoy at all. He applied to Tesco for working as a cashier. Wasn’t he going to play football again? Then something pushed him for one more try and he went to QPR for a trial.! He did it.... Finally his hard work paid off. He managed to impress QPR Technical Director Chris Ramsey. Eze was going to play for QPR. They made him part of professional team 2 years later when he was 20.  In the same year , he scored 2 consecutive goals against Bolton and Milwall ( the very club that had rejected him a couple of years back). He succeeded to take all attentions of big clubs and rest is history! Last Saturday , Eze walked onto pitch 80th Minute to play for his first premier league game! This is not end of his journey hopefully we will hear his name more often. But one lesson to us! Life doesn’t give us only one chance! Life can give us so many chances and opportunities as long as we work so hard for them. Whatever it happens , even when you hit rock bottom, continue working hard! Pursue your dreams and opportunities....Be like Eze !!!
