"Turning Dreams into Reality: The Inspirational Journey of PROPHAZE"

The journey toward cybersecurity excellence at Prophaze began back in 2018. The idea of Prophaze came while trying to solve an issue of a customer facing a specific web attack on microservices; the immediate requirement was to build a solution, which eventually turned out to be Prophaze, the Web Security Platform in the long run. We realized that despite numerous companies offering Web Application Firewalls (WAF), there weren't any microservice-based or container-based WAF security solutions. We identified this crucial gap in the security industry while working on this use case. This was in mid of 2018, and later on, Prophaze launched its Beta Version by mid-2020 and boarded our US Partner through which we serve Fortune 100 Companies. That inspired us to launch a product that could revolutionize the industry.
In 2019, Prophaze incubated at Amrita TBI with a team of five, including founders Vaisakh T R and Lakshmi Das, leading the team. However, in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic posed challenges as operations shifted entirely online. Despite delays and uncertainties from customers, the company started its virtual process. However, Prophaze received inquiries from the US via Google search. The Bank of America had encountered a WAF compliance issue, and Guidespark, the HR-based organization for BOA, was tasked with finding a Kubernetes-based WAF solution. Prophase, being the only company that was born Cloud native and offered Kubernetes WAF, caught their attention.?
With pre-seed investment support from the Indian Accelerator, Prophaze onboarded interns as employees. The team, established with two founders and seven interns, grew into a close-knit family. Set up an office in Gurugram for the marketing and sales departments and launched operations in Delhi. Recruitments were conducted across India, expanding the team further.
As a result, the number of customers increased from one to five, eventually reaching fifteen. We showcased our products at international events as one of the cybersecurity products, winning recognition and awards from "Kerala's Grand Challenge" worth Rs 50 lakhs and the "Most Innovative Product of the Year" award from Data Security of India. Prophazes WAF was also selected to be showcased in various international forums as a part of the Indian Cybersecurity ecosystem by the Indian Government. This led to further growth from India into different global markets.
In 2023, Prophaze demonstrated its expertise by successfully mitigating DDoS and Layer 7 attacks on Three Major Indian airports and healthcare sectors. Our advanced attack detection and blocking mechanisms ensured the protection of critical infrastructure. Today, Prophaze stands as a leading cybersecurity company, having addressed global cybersecurity crises. Our journey has established Prophaze as an industry leader, from product launch to navigating the pandemic, securing investments, and expanding operations. Through microservice-based security solutions, we have transformed the cybersecurity landscape and established ourselves as a trusted name in the industry.
