Inspiring Question from UVA's New President, James Ryan, "Wait, What?"

President-Elect James Ryan suggested five questions to ask in life in the Winter UVA Magazine, "Virginia", from my alma mater, the University of Virginia, and his first is one I've long unconsciously embraced, as well as the title of his outstanding book, "Wait, what?"  I think this is an amazing question as it forces you to stop, evaluate a situation, and then feel free to politely extend a question.  I suspect that many people who know me tire of my asking questions, and my wife sometimes feels like I ask even when I know, or should know, the answer.  But I always assume I can learn something from any conversation, even (or maybe especially) when I'm taken aback at an opinion or position.  So, I welcome our Fall 2018 President, James Ryan, to UVA and look forward to seeing his "five question" approach to implementing his vision on Grounds!
