Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators
Bob Bradway
I’m excited to be leading Amgen as we harness dramatic advances in science and technology to serve patients suffering from serious diseases.
We recently published Amgen’s latest Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Report , highlighting the many things our company is doing to build a healthier, better world. ?Click through our report, and you’ll find numerous examples of how we are expanding access to medicine for patients around the world, advancing diversity and inclusion within our company, reducing our impact on the environment, and strengthening our local communities.???
As part of our efforts, we are seeking to inspire the next generation of innovators through world-class science education programs sponsored by the Amgen Foundation.?Last year alone, the Foundation’s programs – all provided at no cost – reached more than 27 million students around the world, helping to level a scientific playing field that traditionally has left many talented young people behind.
LabXchange , for example, was created in partnership with Harvard University and gives students access to personalized biology instruction, virtual lab experiences, and networking opportunities across the global scientific community.?Launched in 2020, LabXchange proved especially valuable during the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, when students worldwide were kept home from school.?Last year, LabXchange reached more than 12 million users, more than 80% of whom were in low- or lower-middle-income countries.
As we say at Amgen, everyone needs science and science needs everyone.?I invite you to learn more about LabXchange and Amgen’s many other ESG initiatives. ?
