Jan Kramer - Swiming at London City Swim

The Inspiring Jan Kramer - Your reason to #swimforMND this year.

Our core team will know that the amazing Jan Kramer, who swam with us at London City Swim 2017, left us for a better place in May.

Jan spoke about his fight against ALS some time ago. He had been suffering from this terrible disease for more than three years, but it hit him hard. On Sunday, September 3, 2017, he swam for the fourth time in the Amsterdam canals during the Amsterdam City Swim, then on September 22nd 2017, he swam in the inaugural London City Swim. Both times with the assistance of his amazing friends and family.

Jan had an admirably positive way of thinking and a corageous perseverance that is an inspiration to all of us; he said, "By swimming as a patient with the Amsterdam City Swim I try to inspire others".

All of us at London City Swim join with our friends and family at Amsterdam City Swim who say: "Dear strong, enthusiastic and eternal Hero Jan Kramer, thank you for everything, for who you are and for what you did for us. We promise you that we will let Wave 15 live for you. We are going to miss incredibly. On behalf of our entire team we wish Karin Kramer, Casper and Franka a lot of strength and strength. Furthermore, we do not have any words anymore and we are just very quiet ... Rest easy sweet Jan.”

If you needed any more inspiration to take the plunge for MND, perhaps think of our good friend John Foster, who swam last year and needs all our support and good wishes to make it to this year's swim. John, we are with you every step of the way.
