Inspiring interactions with colleagues and customers

Last week was yet another inspiring few days, where I had the privilege to meet customers, visit workshops, dealers and body-builders in Europe. I also got the opportunity to meet up with representatives from Irizar, one of Scania’s many vital partnerships.

My colleagues and I in Scania’s Executive Board spent four days at many parts of our value chain in Spain, France, the Netherlands and Poland.

It is always rewarding to be “out there” and be a part of the daily business. To do go-and-see in our operations is one of our most important methods to understand the development and challenges Scania is facing, and also reflect together. What can we do differently? How can we be even better?

The talks I had with co-workers are so valuable, and is what brings us forward. There are so many things we can learn from each other. I recognized the presence of the Scania House, where we have gathered our core values and principles and where methods are really alive. I see them in so many things that we do, and that is something I treasure.

We received valuable feedback from customers, transport companies, and central delivery workshop on matters we are painfully aware of – such as the disturbances in our value chain. Key here is working as a team, to always be transparent and plan ahead as much as we can. We are in the same boat, and everyone is doing a fantastic effort to solve all challenges we encounter. Our customers are always top of my mind, and it is clear that we all share the same mindset – to stabilise the situation the best we can to allow for them to have their vehicles delivered.

I could also sense a great interest in our bus operations. In Slupsk, we have made immense improvements, and both proud employees and testimonials from the customers vouches for that. We believe we are on the right track, and we have more to do, because we never stop our improvement work.

Now, we also see more interactions between our industrial and our commercial operations, and it pays off. This is a strong proof that we are taking necessary steps in the way we have adapted our central structure. We will meet the future with a value creation approach where our customers are firmly at the centre. ?

I am truly happy for the opportunity to meet Scania colleagues and our valued customers, and I hope to encounter you all again soon.

It’s really important method to understand the real life of our customer. My grandfather said: Who listen, forget; Who see, remember; Who do, learn! Congrats for your Scania spirit
