Inspiring the Future – we're in!
It’s so refreshing to be invited to support such a positive local venture that we’re delighted to be attending Form the Future’s, Secondary Future’s, event next week.
Having worked our way up through the travel industry to become owners of a successful business travel enterprise, Louisa and I both whole heartedly believe in helping young people to reach their potential and understand that dreams are achievable.
Inspiring the Future will bring together a wide range of volunteers, like me, from different backgrounds and different careers, to help raise aspirations and broaden the horizons of children and young people in Cambridge.
It’s a positive initiative to help young people understand their opportunities, break gender stereotypes and aim high. By meeting real people who’ve stood exactly where they’re standing, they can make better informed career choices, more clearly aligned to their skills and interests.
In an afternoon breakout session, smaller groups of girls will also have the opportunity to meet and chat freely with women at the top of their game in their chosen careers; helping young women overcome the challenges often faced when considering their future career options.
Over 300 local school students will be attending this launch event, which will hopefully expand to incorporate many more schools in the area.
It’s all taking place on Tuesday 31st October 2017, at the North Cambridge Academy.
