Inspiring Fifty: a curated selection of Europe’s 50 most inspirational women in tech

I’m a strong proponent of bringing more women into tech (and celebrating those who’ve achieved amazing things before them) and a believer in the benefits of striving for gender parity in the workplace and, less broadly, the European tech industry that we at Tech.eu are an inherent part of.
For that reason, I was delighted to be part of a great panel of judges for this year’s Inspiring Fifty, a list of the top fifty most inspirational women in European technology for 2016.
Inspiring Fifty is a non-profit that aims to highlight amazing women from across the tech scene, from entrepreneurs to business leaders, influencers and policymakers.
Today, on International Women’s Day, the organisation is announcing the list of the fifty most inspiring women in European tech for this year.
In the list for 2016, 11 countries are represented: Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
You will likely have heard of at least some of the women on the list – which includes Tech.eu co-founder Roxanne Varza, Google Ventures’ Avid Larizadeh Duggan, Passion Capital’ Eileen Burbidge, Facebook EMEA VP Nicola Mendelsohn and Seedcamp’s Reshma Sohoni – but there are bound to be some that you still need to (and should) ‘meet’.
They were selected by a panel, as mentioned earlier, that included the likes of Ellenore Angelidis (diversity director at Amazon), Tech UK CEO Julian David and Diana Jablonska, deputy head of unit, directorate-general for education & culture at European Commission.
I implore you to check out the organisation’s website (or the infographic below) to find out more about these amazing women in European tech.
May it be even more difficult to select fifty of them in the future.
