A Day of Empowerment and Connection

The conference started with a stirring message from Kat Armstrong, who encouraged attendees to embody the spirit of prayer exemplified by Hannah in the Bible. Her insights reminded everyone of the strength found in faith and prayer, setting a tone of reflection and connection.

Jenni Catron, a renowned author and speaker, provided many thought-provoking insights on culture. She shared a personal story contrasting her experiences with two bosses during her teenage years—one at a fun and encouraging ice cream shop and the other at a Christmas tree farm where the atmosphere was toxic and unmotivating. Her personal experiences drove home the message that culture matters and "people are the point."

Community and Collaboration

A significant highlight came from Amy Cedrone, Polished board chair, and Catherine Gates, Polished's executive director. They shared a powerful story about 17 nonprofit marketplace ministries coming together to support one another and explore collaborative opportunities. This message led to an exciting announcement:?4word?and the?Polished Network?are joining forces to become a single, stronger organization.

Following this announcement, Melissa Harrison, president and executive director of 4word, emphasized the transformative power of community for women. She articulated that?community building can become our superpower, amplifying personal and professional growth.

Leadership Lessons from Nikki Lawrence

Nikki Lawrence, Chief Impact and Inclusion Officer at a Fortune 500 company, drew parallels between her experiences and those of Moses. She reminded participants that feeling inadequate is common among leaders but emphasized the importance of transparency with God regarding our insecurities. Lawrence's message reinforced that God equips us for our assignments even when we may feel unprepared.

Key Insights on Leadership

Sharon Hodde Miller took the stage next to discuss three critical aspects of leadership:?Calling,?Experience, and?Supportive Community. She highlighted that true calling often requires faith and that every experience shapes us as leaders. Miller's insights served as a reminder of the importance of mentorship and community support in personal and professional growth.

Finding Peace in Chaos

Meredith King closed out the day by addressing the need for peacemakers in a chaotic world. She spoke about how true peace comes from God and encouraged attendees to prepare their hearts for peace by starting and ending each day with intention.

A Renewed Sense of Purpose

As the conference concluded, participants left feeling uplifted and inspired, equipped with new tools and connections to navigate their personal and professional lives.
