?? Inspiring a Better Britain: Reflecting on Anthropy Organisation and Conference '23 and looking forward to '24

I had the privilege of attending the Anthropy National Gathering, at the captivating Eden Project in Cornwall. The Anthropy Organisation exists to inspire a better Britain—one that is positive, sustainable, equitable, and successful. Their mission encompasses various themes, including the inclusion of people with disabilities, which is crucial to creating a truly inclusive society

Throughout the gathering, senior leaders came together to discuss the future of Britain and the need for a national vision. Visionary speakers such as Andy Haldane (CEO of RSA), Alex Mahon (CEO of Channel 4), and Sir Tim Smit (Founder of the Eden Project) shared their insights on shaping a better future for our nation.

One of the key themes that emerged from Anthropy23 was the notion of equity of opportunity. We discussed the importance of creating a country where everyone, regardless of their background, has an equal chance to maximise their potential and contribute positively to society ?? ?? ♀? ♂? ?? ?? ??

Sessions from organisations such as The DFN Foundation, Seeability, and City & Guilds shed light on the barriers individuals face and highlighted opportunities for improving employment, market potential, and civil society engagement, including those pertaining to disability inclusion ??.

Disability inclusion ?? ?? matters to these themes because it is an essential aspect of creating a society that provides equity of opportunity. By ensuring that individuals with disabilities have equal access to opportunities, education, and employment, we can maximise their potential and positive contribution to society. Embracing disability inclusion not only aligns with the values of equity and sustainability but also fosters a vibrant and harmonious environment for all who live within our country.

Disability inclusion and advocacy are of paramount importance for businesses and the growth of the UK economy. By embracing and promoting disability inclusion, businesses can tap into a vast pool of talent, skills, and perspectives that may otherwise be overlooked. Creating an inclusive workplace not only fosters a diverse and vibrant workforce but also enhances creativity, innovation, and problem-solving capabilities. Moreover, inclusive practices and accessible environments allow individuals with disabilities to fully participate in economic activities, contributing their unique skills and abilities. By valuing and supporting employees with disabilities, businesses can cultivate a positive work environment, boost employee morale, and improve productivity. Furthermore, disability inclusion sends a powerful message to customers and clients, demonstrating a commitment to diversity, social responsibility, and equal opportunities. Ultimately, disability inclusion and advocacy are not only the right thing to do, but they also have the potential to drive business success, foster economic growth, and create a more inclusive and equitable society in the UK.

Lastly, the Anthropy Organisation recognises that our country's global perspective is vital to addressing shared issues like poverty, climate change, human rights, and totalitarianism. Diplomats, international business leaders, aid organisations, and campaigners discussed the significance of British values on a global scale and their role in creating a prosperous and collaborative future that includes individuals with disabilities.

The Anthropy National Gathering provided a unique platform for leaders to connect, collaborate, and engage in genuine thinking on how to drive positive change in practices, partnerships, and policies. It was an honour to be part of this transformative experience and contribute to inspiring a better Britain for the next thirty years. Together, we can shape the narrative and create a country that truly embodies equity, harmony, prosperity, and a strong global perspective, where every individual, including those with disabilities, can thrive.

Looking forward to Next National Gathering | 26 – 28 March 2025 | Eden Project #Anthropy24 #InspiringABetterBritain #DisabilityInclusionMatters.
