Hey dad, do you work past the end of the day?

Hey mom, does your job often take you away?

Is it hard for your family to be in one place?

Does Saturday morning always seem like a race?

Your schedule is jammed you're so busy with stuff

Quite often you'll find that you've just had enough

You can stop all the stress, you can start to have fun

But do it together, for your family is one

You can go for a walk, or a run, or a hike

Or off to a picnic, each on their own bike

Then turn off your gadgets and gewgaws and phones

Just go to a lake and start skipping stones

Or prepare a fine feast, it shouldn't be rare

Enjoy all the stories, and don't leave your chair

Don't answer the phone when you're eating a meal

No texting, no tweets, conversation is real

And stop flipping channels and surfing and such

Just turn off the TV, you're not missing much

When you stay home at night to play a neat game

No matter who wins, you'll be glad that you came

Your family comes first - or so you will say

Now make time for them, and do it each day

The time you're together is always the best

So guard it with care and you'll feel truly blessed
