INSPIRED BY QUEBEC GOVERNMENT TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE TIME CHANGE

[The following is an opinion written by one of my Consciousness Advisor colleagues from Québec, Jacqueline Benoit. The province of Québec is considering removing the annual time shift and has asked for opinions from its constituents as to which time (Standard or Daylight Savings) they should employ. Jacqueline's perspective is from the perspective of Nature - the outer nature of the universe and the inner nature of consciousness as it is inscribed in our neurophysiology. It is a fascinating and beautiful read.]

The impact of time change and moving the clocks forward

I appreciate my government for putting its attention on improving the lives of Quebecers, the economy and everything that is important for a functional and progressive society by considering the impact not only of time change but more specifically of moving the time forward.

On what basis will the government make its decision? Will the decision be taken based on our senses or based on the natural solar rhythm of the day's lengthening and shortening?

Do we want to progress towards the best?

Any serious quest aspires to authenticity, beyond appearances and often misleading impressions.

Time has a duration, but let's not forget that it also has a specific quality that supports or upsets our activities. Are we not aware that the morning solar energy is beneficial for awakening, vitality, dynamism, health, etc. And noon is the ideal time for digestion. And evening lower solar energy is conducive to relaxation, rest and sleep. It is during these hours that our physiology is mostly supported in its specific activities such as awakening, digestion and sleep, regardless of our position.

I predict that when we naturally experience the lengthening and shortening of the days that the population will rejoice and live more and more in harmony with the rhythm of nature. Having a well-informed population will make all the difference. Keeping standard time, will give us the same number of daylight hours without the sensation of daylight saving time and the discomfort felt around September when the sun rises later than normal.

Currently, we only experience winter time for four months. As the days get longer in February, we experience a greater vitality and harmony with solar energy, but suddenly, we are shaken and even disoriented by daylight saving time (DST). From there, the impression of longer daylight makes its way, even if we lose an hour, and in reality, the gain is only at the level of appearance.

Can we continue to ignore the importance of natural phenomena and the fact that each hour of the day has an impact on health and well-being?

Favoring morning light is desirable. By getting up with the sun, we benefit from the greatest number of hours of daylight, in addition to the benefits of its first rays.

Changing time is an anomaly, just as if a vertebra or a nerve has been dislocated. Any deviation causes imbalances and discomforts often ignored by our senses, but never ignored by our brain and our physiology which are constantly in contact with solar energy and the cosmos.

Let's also consider the physiology of children, which is naturally inclined to follow the rhythm of the sun. We can easily adjust the hours of work and activities. Evening events can start at 7 p.m. and fireworks can be held at 9 p.m. instead of 10 p.m.

It is time to live naturally with the lengthening and shortening of days and follow the solar energy throughout the year and thus promoting order and harmony with our universe.

Being aware of the physical and mental health issues facing our society, I appreciate my government for paying attention to them. Thank you for taking into consideration a deeper understanding of the situation and the real impact it can have on health and the economy.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline Benoit

Great read, indeed! I couldn’t agree more on how this back and forth time change totally disrupts our circadian rhythm and affects us for days on end - walking around like zombies. I still don’t understand its purpose or benefits. It feels more like a nonsensical nuisance
