Be inspired to inspire others !

I am delighted to announce that I am Lockheed Martin Ampthill’s Quarter 4 Culture Optimisation Award Winner of 2020.

With the Cultural Optimisation goal in mind, “To Invigorate, Enrich and Empower us to generate Inspiration within ourselves” and as a representative of the Commercial function for Culture Optimisation and ambassador for the Teaching Culture workstream, I launched the Inspire Zone in May 2020. These internal workshops were used to support and promote a teaching culture, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Inspire Zone project has showcased numerous hobbies from different employees. This encouraged many to tune in (virtually) during their lunch break to watch and learn about other people’s hobbies and passions, as well as volunteer to present a session themselves. Each fortnight, a different subject was discussed and presented, from; how to play the guitar, Indian cooking, a beginner’s guide into the world of crystals, inspiring books and much more!

Due to the success of this initiative, the innovation of the Inspire Zone continued into 2021 as it started to become part of the business rhythm, a dedicated intranet page (Lockheed Martin Employees Only) was launched in January. This brings all the Inspire Zone sessions together (PowerPoint and Recording) in chronological order, to be watched at any time.

I am extremely grateful for being able to bring the Inspire Zone to life and the overwhelming positive response I have received from colleagues. I am deeply humbled and honoured to receive the Culture Optimisation Award. It has been an aspiration of mine to allow all colleagues in Lockheed Martin to share something that they are passionate about – to inspire, enrich and empower others, and I truly believe that the Inspire Zone Initiative helps support that. I have been truly amazed by the enthusiasm and dedication of all the volunteers and event attendees, bringing diversity and engagement to all topics of interest.
