Courteney Cox is a beautiful, talented and successful American actress, well as a noted producer and director. She portrayed Monica Geller on the mega-hit NBC sitcom Friends, Gale Weathers in the popular horror series Scream, and Jules Cobb in the ABC/TBS sitcom Cougar Town. I met her during my years as a fundraiser for the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles at a Red Cross fundraising event. When I saw her, I gave her my official business card and told her I thought she was awesome. She then pointed to the Red Cross on my card and said: “No, John. I think YOU are awesome.” I found her to be very charismatic and inspiring. I learned from her what being truly gracious and caring is like.

9 年As a 15 year ARC volunteer and former Board Chair I'm delighted by the story. Courtney Cox, or CC as we called her, was my Admin Asst after she left college and before the Springsteen Dancin in the Dark video that put her on the path to fame. She was caring, interesting and charismatic even at 19. It's a pleasure to put both the Red Cross and CC in the same story for this volunteer.

9 年Nice story about appreciating what people do. It is human nature to be critical of negative behavior but it is so important to compliment others who do something good such as a volunteer doing humanitarian work .
John, Wonderful blog post re: true graciousness and Courtney Cox. I had a number of interactions with her when I was at OPCC. I had cultivated her husband at the time, David Arquette, to become involved with us. The Arquettes hosted a dinner at their Bevetly Hills Home and the following year hosted our signature event at their home. She was always extremely gracious and appeared sincere in her support. - McKinley
