INSPIRED FOR ACTION

This year I was recognized by some of my colleagues as the Most Inspirational trainer. It was an honor to be recognized this way and for others to perceive me in a way that is congruent to how I hope to be perceived. And when we think of inspiration, what do we really mean? Does being inspired bring about change and help us achieve all that we want? Does it move us towards action? Or rather do we all need a different type inspiration to get us moving?
Does being inspired bring about change and help us achieve all that we want?
A beautiful definition of Inspiration is: "the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative."
I love this definition because it gets to the core of what my intention is in impacting others and I believe should be a focus of yours if you want to impact change; it's that you stimulate someone mentally. Your impact is to the brain, to the thoughts, feelings, emotions, which are what make us take action and make changes. They are stimulating towards action and I can only imagine how much action you all want to take this year. Perhaps it's personal goals, business objectives, familial responsibilities but we all have something we're striving for. Some of us take more action then others and many of us want to get to our end goal sooner than later. With all of that said, where do we get the inspiration, motivation, or pure internal desire to strive for what we want? I may have been the most inspirational but I know I don't inspire everyone and my approach is specific to someone who will me stimulated to make a change. Others need to a different approach. I'm a mix of a cheerleader and drill sergeant as I adapt to what people need. I like to uplift and inspire others but don't accept excuses and make people question them so they can take responsibility for their actions.
...where do we get the inspiration, motivation, or pure internal desire to strive for what we want?
You may just need inspiration from within, or you need to work against your fear or you have a burning desire to move towards happiness, whichever of these get you moving, dig deep to figure it out and go. One of the worst experiences that we can have is regret. Regretting not taking the chance, not making the change, not putting in the work to make it happen, not taking the time to explore what inspires us so we can find that inspiration for our actions.
And what a better way to make a change in life that to explore the creative part of us?
Looking into the definition of inspiration a little further, you notice that it states the word creative. That inspiration stimulates you to do or feel something, especially creative. And what a better way to make a change in life that to explore the creative part of us? When was the last time you played a game, had fun, didn't take yourself so seriously, took time to smell the roses? We get bogged down in our responsibilities that we forget about our hobbies and enjoyment. It's true that some of us just get boring and we know who we are. When you do the same old thing and never change, never try a new color nail polish, or travel to a far off destination or write a story, or draw something that you're excited by.
Being inspired is one step of the process, doing something with that inspiration is the next step. So I ask you:
What Inspires YOU?
What next steps are you going to take with your inspiration?
What creative endeavors are you going to explore?
Have fun with life as that is one of the reasons of why we're here, isn't it?
