SAVED TO SERVE (3) WHOSE ARE YOU? (1)
"For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,"
Acts 27:23
It is important to know 'whose you are?' One should be absolutely sure where one belongs and the terms of engagement. Once one becomes a Christian, the need for assurance of salvation is important. Paul was absolutely sure whose he was.
Salvation and relationship with God must never be a guess game. When you ask some people if they are born again, they tell you - 'God knows who is born again.' Well, that is not good enough. Not knowing where you stand with God is dangerous to your spiritual health.
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
Joh 1:12,13
There is certainty and clearity regarding our stand with God. If you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, the scriptures say that God will give to you the 'power' to become the son of God. And it is a spiritual transaction not worldly or physical. That is why it says , 'not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.' Something fundamentally life-transforming happens when one gives his life to Christ.

I was saved to service. Help me Lord to serve with all I have got, with sincerity, commitment and utmost devotion. To serve is life. Give me grace to serve humbly and faithfully.
