OUR DAILY MINISTRY TO OTHERS - PART FIVE - EVERYONE GETS WEAK SOMETIMES - ONE
He who sows help prepares for the day he too will need help. We all need to be compassionate towards those who fail or fall because someday we too will require compassion in the days of our adversity.
Our Lord Jesus taught us a great lesson in this encounter with Simon Peter. It illustrates that we all need people who care and love us enough to pray for us and steady our hands.
“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
Luke 22:31-32
Let’s take it line by line:
1. ‘Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:’
Simon is not the only one in this situation. Everyday, the enemy of our souls make a target of us. Make no mistake about it – the devil is determined to stop you and everyone who calls the name of Christ. You are on the devil’s hit list, whether you know it or not. So are all your friends, brothers and sisters who love the Lord and serve Him joyfully. The devil will throw everything in the book at them in his determined effort to make them fall and destroy their testimonies.
Saints under the assault of the devil don’t need you to add to their burdens or have you on the side of their accuser. We all need to show the same compassion Jesus showed to Simon. More than ever before we need to stand with one another and fight off the rampaging demons seeking to destroy us.

Prayer:
Help me Lord to be an inspiration to others who need it, an encouragement to the wearied and tired, a strength to the weak and give me always, words of comfort for the afflicted.
