Reflecting on my journey to 54, I'm filled with deep gratitude and a sense of wonder at the path I've walked. There are moments that stand out, and that bring me so much joy.
1. Chief Igniter Mode
Oh, how I thrive on challenging and uplifting high-impact leaders, especially the women and (a few men) who are all about taking action! There's a certain melody in the air when I see them break barriers and reach new, incredible heights. I’m eager to continue this dance of empowerment and witness even more success stories unfold.
2. Business & Board Leadership
Sitting on boards, advising, challenging, focusing on strategic direction and oversight, is a role I cherish. I’m passionate about holding companies accountable and ensuring they serve all stakeholders well. I'm ready and excited to expand my horizons in this arena. Looking out to serve more boards that align with my interest and values.?
3. Mummy Tycoon
Balancing my professional life as CEO of Fine and Country West Africa @fineandcountrywa , while being fully present for my children has been a rewarding challenge. I am committed to raising champion kids and showing them the power of a woman living her divine purpose. I want them to see that it's possible to nurture a family and build impactful ventures simultaneously.
In this next chapter, I’m all in for deepening my impact in these areas I love so dearly. There’ll be more igniting, advising, and nurturing in the journey ahead.
What I’d Do More Of:
1.?Savouring Radiant Moments:?Life is a collection of fleeting moments, and I’ll spend more time cherishing the little joys and victories along the way. In the hustle of achievement, it's easy to overlook the simple pleasures. I’d remind my younger self to pause, breathe, and soak in the beauty of now.
2.?Trusting My Intuition:?My journey has taught me the invaluable lesson of trusting my gut feelings. Looking back, I see moments where my intuition was a guiding light, and I wish I’d lent it my ear more often. Trusting oneself is a superpower, and I’ll definitely tap into it more.
3.?Choosing Quality Over Quantity:?
In relationships, work, and life’s pursuits, the quality of our engagements matters more than the quantity. I’d tell my younger self to seek depth and meaning, to choose connections that nourish the soul and endeavors that truly resonate.?
What I’d Do Less Of / Differently:
1.?Sweating the Small Stuff:?The small hiccups and setbacks that once seemed like mountains now appear as mere blips in the grand tapestry of life. I’d counsel my younger self to let go of the trivial anxieties and focus on the bigger picture. Everything works out for good. Ultimately. If it’s not yet good/ it’s not the end! Yet!
2.?Seeking External Validation:?The quest for approval and validation can be a treacherous path. At 54, I realize the importance of self-validation and being my own cheerleader. I’d remind myself that my worth is not determined by external accolades but by my own sense of integrity and purpose.?
3.?Resisting Change:?Change is the only constant, and embracing it is a skill I’ve learned over time. I’d encourage my younger self to flow with life’s changes, to see them as opportunities for growth and transformation. Never count yourself out! You’ve got what it takes to take on- whatever needs taking on! Stay resilient and resourceful.?
As I embark on this new chapter, armed with the wisdom of hindsight and the clarity of experience, I’m ready to embrace the beauty of what lies ahead, to live more fully in the present, and to approach life’s twists and turns with grace and resilience.
Here’s to the journey, to the lessons learned, and to the endless possibilities that 54 brings.
