Inspiration from the Paris Olympics

YOU ARE ENOUGH, but how you sustain that mantra comes down to mindset, community and self leadership. This is what the Paris Olympics inspired me to think about after I watched a court side interview with Novak Djokovic (my Serbian brother from another mother - ?estitam, brate!) Gold Medal Winner in Men’s Tennis Singles.?
Djokovic has won a record 24 Grand Slam singles titles making him statistically the greatest tennis player in history (and I'll just go on record as saying The Greatest!). And winning the Olympic Gold has been a dream he has chased through four previous Olympic games. But as he gave his remarks court side after his win, he talked about one of his biggest internal battles:
That’s one of the biggest internal battles I keep on fighting with myself. That I feel like I haven’t done enough or been enough in my life on and off the court.?
His words struck me as I thought, if he, who has clearly achieved so much, struggles with these demons, then how do any of us persevere who don't have medals or consistent accolades to prove our achievements? And while it is a natural human thought, how do great athletes overcome those voices in order to keep persevering to the next round? And, what can we learn from them so that we continue to elevate?
With that question in mind, I asked a few thought leader speakers to share some of their thoughts from moments that inspired them from the Paris Olympics and here's what they shared...

Rise Through It
Rashmi Airan has a story of epic proportion and it's one that I believe relates to many athletes who need to rise through some of their greatest challenges. When you have time, learn more about how she went from successful lawyer to being brought to her knees in a prison sentence that no one could have imagined. But her ability to take ownership of that moment and rise through it is what many athletes have to do through their challenges and falls before rising again, and that's what Rashmi so poignantly shares in this clip. 3 个月Love this Mirjana Novkovic! You have eloquently highlighted in this post that the best of the best are NOT immune to the critical thoughts or reactions to pressure/ stress that we all face, rather they have equipped themselves with the tools and tactics (and inner coach!) to tolerate the stress, handle the challenges and bring their best when it counts!
