Inspiration from NZ's Best HR Leaders
I've just had two great days listening to some of New Zealand's brightest and best Human Resources leaders at the 2019 NZ HR leadership Summit. Here are some of the thoughts and conversations that inspired me.
Belief/Behave and Become, those who work on being authentic, show vulnerability and have courage. There is a reason people with these traits are so highly regarded, work on your courage and its okay to make mistakes.
There were plenty of discussions and themes around implementing data-led culture and getting beyond the numbers if you get the technology right, there can be a stronger focus on culture and engagement. Learning and Development in a changing world, and building a diverse, flexible and inclusive workplace. We all know that change is the new norm...
I was also inspired by the Downer story around the complexities of their large and diverse workforce, and just how successful they have been around unique programs creating Maori leaders.
Whilst hearing Nielson's pragmatic and fair approach to belonging, flexible working, wellness and acknowledging the gender pay gap. In summary, there were so many great ideas, stories, journeys, and successes.
As a new business owner, it was also great to see so many familiar and friendly faces, as well as meet some awesome new HR talent.
Great insights Kelly!
