Inspiration is all around

So it is the first day after the Eid holidays,?and I am pretty sure everyone just had a good time with their friends and family members. Well it was Eid and the whole UAE was lit up with happiness and service attitude, as it always does irrespective of the month, that’s the beauty of this country. We generally witness all malls full of people, shopping, buying?gifts, accessories, and whatnot. You can feel the vibe and most of my friends had taken off on Thursday and Friday to make full use of the holidays and plan their vacation. Even I was invited on Eid to one of my friend place and I was planning to gift him a pair of shoes so I did visit the Mall of Emirates to grab a gift for him. As I entered the mall, it was full of people, the food court was fully occupied and Carrefour was flooded with offers and gifts. You see people from all nationalities and communities buying gifts, serving each other, and great EID MUBARAK! to everyone.

Well, I was in a hurry as I had to get a pair of shoes so I visited Ecco, a showroom in MOE. As I entered the showroom, I was welcomed by a guy, ECCO staff who was looking after sales for that day. He was a skinny guy with average height and with short hair wearing a grey half sleeve t-shift of ECCO! Properly dressed as a professional sales guy and with a warm smile, he asked me " Good Afternoon Sir, how may I help you today? "

I replied?"Hey, very afternoon,?Yes you can indeed I am looking for shoes for one of my friends as I have to meet him for Eid. By the way, what's your name ? ( I always ask name first to whomever I talk but I was in a hurry so I missed it at the start :( )

He replied?" Krishna"?and of course, I will assist you,??is there anything particular you are looking for. "

I said, "Nice meeting you Krishna, Yes, formal or semi-formal shoes would do."

He said "Ah we have a good range of shoes, there they are?on shelves, you can select the one you like and I will get you the size. "

Then he went on explaining that it's original leather and no stitches and how comfortable it will be. And the list kept on going!

I looked around and picked one and gave it to him for billing. Krishna helped me to buy Eid gift :) I paid and said "Thank you so much, Krishna, you have been a great help. I feel I just spoke to the encyclopedia of the Shoe market, you are indeed one " and we both laughed.

I said "Eid Mubarak, May Al-Mighty grants you a lot of happiness, courage, and prosperity" and was leaving and he replied " Thank you, Sir, Eid Mubarak, and Happy Holiday Sir enjoy!

I smiled and was leaving and suddenly I realized that he wished me a happy Holiday.

I turned around and asked " You don't have offs"

He replied, "?No sir we are working till Sunday."?

I was "WHAT". Retail is an altogether different vertical and I never realized that indeed on holidays we go out shopping and dine in but there are people like Krishna who work with full honesty and dedication to bring smiles to our faces and provide better customer experience but we hardly acknowledge. Indeed that's his job but imagine if you have to work on Saturday or Sunday or a whole week of public holidays. YOU SEE!

I couldn’t emphasize more what I learned with this experience. Krishna did a fantastic job and I couldn’t thank him enough so I asked for a click with him, said "You are my Hero today :)"

He laughed and he said: "I AM JUST DOING MY JOB! And I am glad you have enriched and acknowledge this, hardly anyone does. "

I replied " No, I do! And not only you but everyone serving needs an applaud.

He was touched by my words but I literally meant whatever I said.

He again replied " If you dont mind, can you guide me on how to build muscle I need to gain some "

We laughed and said?"I will indeed."

We clicked a picture and I wished him all the best, shared my number too,?if he needs any help he can always reach out to me. So on this EID, I made a friend :) who was extremely polite, humble and best at his profession with great knowledge. I know he will make big one day !

Indeed there are people who work on the public holidays, festivals just to make sure we cater memorable experiences and cherish them.
