Insights into Software Innovations & New Features
One fact we can all agree upon is that software and technology continue to advance. Less than six months ago, very few people had heard of ChatGPT, and today AI technology is being introduced everywhere we look. Similarly, the E2G software team continues to innovate and advance our technology. Over the last six months, we have taken traditional desktop software and reimagined the workflow, interface, and functionality to new cloud-native environments.
As many of our followers know, we have held API RBI User Group Meetings since the early 2000s and introduced a SagePlus User Group Meeting in 2021. Both events have been incredibly successful for us to learn from our users and share the latest developments with our clients. The industry has changed since we introduced these events, and to reinforce our commitment to knowledge sharing, we held the first-ever Community of Users event in early May. It was an incredibly successful event with more than 45 companies in attendance from regions all over the world.?
The Community of Users began with a presentation by president and CEO David Osage. He outlined our innovative Damage Management Location (DML) approach to connecting inspection data with asset lifecycle management, which is now available in PlantManager PILOT, E2G’s inspection planning and management software. He introduced the DML lifecycle workflow for piping which includes inspection findings, how to identify and address DMLs, data input, results, and analysis. His presentation emphasized E2G’s focus on automating significant engineering analyses to improve facility-wide collaboration, operational safety, and efficiency.
"What we have introduced is a damage management location, we differentiate it from a CML (condition monitoring location) in that we manage the MAWP at temperature versus time. That’s the management factor. What we suggest is you don’t want to monitor CMLs, you want to manage them directly and have that MAWP versus temperature versus time ability to give to management, so they can make informed run, replace, or repair decisions.” David A. Osage, President & CEO
Our Chief Technology Officer, Chuck Panzarella, discussed eecHotTap, our cloud-native software tool that predicts peak wall temperature, maximum cooling rate, and the shortest cooling time around the weld region. Chuck shared several new features and enhancements that improve validation with experiments and predictions of the initial wall temperature. For those in attendance, it proved to be an incredibly insightful presentation as attendees learned how eecHotTap helps solve a complex set of welding challenges.

Finally, Bob Davis, a consulting engineer from our Mechanical & Structural engineering team, gave a live demonstration of how IntelliJoint can be used to evaluate and optimize the assembly of bolted flanged joints in operation per ASME PCC-1 methodologies. He showed how IntelliJoint’s extensive analysis capabilities help you to improve the safety and reliability of existing flanged joints and streamline designs for new equipment.
?“They presented very precise content and explained the things that are being improved upon with Equity’s programs. Good information!” Community of Users attendee, May 2023
The first Community of Users provided insight into new features and upcoming technologies, and gave everyone an opportunity to participate in a live panel discussion with our team. Thank you to those who participated in the first event, and we look forward to welcoming you to the second Community of Users event in August.
Our software team hasn’t stopped developing – we are only scraping the surface of what’s new at E2G. You can expect to see us rolling out more functionality and tools over the coming weeks and months.
