I recently visited India after 2.5 years. There is a different emotion attached to visiting home after a long time specially considering turnmoils of last 2 years.
During my visit, I observed a few points and believe this could be interesting for a wider community specially connected to the #Indian #ecosystem
- Banking issues are resolved in a very individual and in a customized way. Unlike process driven approach in Germany, this was a refreshing change.
- In rural India, there are interesting changes going on. In my native place, one of the remotest place in India with around 500 native villagers have a center for Ayushman Bharat, healthcare scheme funded by Government of India.
- There is a tremendous need for cultural and mindset shift about waste disposal, why its harmful for one's own future. Even after many awareness campaign the on ground situation requires many more efforts.
- Solar energy usage at an individual household level is making an impact in many regions including urban and rural areas. There is a tremendous potential to augment these capacities.
- One of my close relative, a housewife with a basic education gave me insights into her analytical approach into stocks. This was one of the most interesting experience for me in the recent time. The significance of earning profits right from start and for more then two years without formal training, relying on youtube videos, understanding right risks and taking right approach was truly an enriching experience for me.
- There has been significant loss or shift in traditional business in last two years. People are exploring new avenues.
- Digital payments in India has changed the basic life and mindset and can be a model system to study even for advanced economies.
- Infrastructure such as Airports are making a difference in smaller cities but require more efforts in better maintenance and keeping upto standards.
- From many years, there remains a challenge handling street dogs and requires special attention from the administration.
- The temperatures in many parts of the country are reaching to extreme levels. Heat and unpredictable weather would be extremely concering in the coming years.
- The elderly generation requires special care as many people from young generation move across horizons. Their struggles are seen in real.
- As a new parent, air travel can be adventurous and requires a lot of patience or sometimes just ignoring the peeping eyes.
Finally, there is a different emotion evoked by meeting family and being in a comfortable envrionment.

2 年India's 'demographic dividend' of a different sort is now with us: The point you make is worth emphasizing. "The elderly generation requires special care as many people from young generation move across horizons. Their struggles are seen in real." So your observations on easy banking, investment for the many, Ayushman Bharat, and transport, will all matter more than ever, especially in more remote areas. We are moving ahead, but still some distance from high quality of life for many.

2 年Nice!! Despite of all the pitfals, it was quite refreshing to read about recent developments in various sectors in India. Specially when i have not been to my homeland in past 4 years.

2 年One point I would like to add is that the startups in India (food, grocery and medicine delivery, healthcare, etc.) especially when it comes to service delivery are far outpacing the ones even in Germany for that matter. This is what I experienced on my recent trip to Germany last month.
Nicely put!
