  • Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has announced Isha Ambani and Rajiv Mehrishi as Directors for Jio Financial Services Limited (JFSL), a demerged division of RIL. Rajiv Mehrishi, former CAG and home minister, has been appointed as an independent director for a five-year term. The demerger of RSIL has been allowed by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), with the official announcement for JFSL scheduled for July 20, 2023. Hitesh Kumar Sethia has been appointed as the Managing Director and CEO for RSIL, pending RBI's approval. Sethia has a strong background in the financial services sector with over 20 years of experience and holds certifications from Harvard Business School and as a chartered accountant.


  • Geeta Rao Gupta has been sworn in as the Ambassador-at-Large for the Office of Global Women's Issues in the United States. She was confirmed by the US Senate in May with 51 votes in favour. Gupta has extensive experience working with UN agencies and programs, including leadership roles in the UN Foundation and UNICEF. She holds a PhD in Social Psychology and has contributed significantly to shaping international development policies and programs for women and girls.


  • Abhijit Chakravorty has been appointed as the Managing Director and CEO of SBI Card by the State Bank of India (SBI). He will assume the role on August 12 for a two-year term. Chakravorty, who joined SBI as a probationary officer in 1988, currently serves as a deputy managing director. He will be succeeding Rama Mohan Rao Amara, who has been with SBI for nearly three decades and held various key positions. Amara's tenure as MD will end on August 11.


  • P. Vasudevan has been appointed as the Executive Director (ED) by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), effective from July 3. He previously served as the chief general manager-in-charge of the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems. With nearly three decades of experience in various roles within RBI, including faculty members and work in regional offices, Vasudevan brings expertise in bank supervision and payment systems.


  • Manoj Kohli, a seasoned industry professional with over 40 years of experience, has been appointed as an Advisor to wireless network operator World Mobile. Leveraging his expertise as the former country head of SoftBank India and CEO of Bharti Airtel, Manoj will provide strategic guidance and mentorship to World Mobile's leadership team. The company aims to expand its hybrid connectivity solution across Africa, Asia, the USA, and beyond, using blockchain technology to deliver affordable and accessible wireless services.
